Koghol the Stormfury Character in After the Collapse | World Anvil

Koghol the Stormfury

The apparent father of Tora Armadul is Koghol, one of twelve dwarves hand crafted by the Firstborn. Ancient beyond measure, Koghol and his brothers fought in the War of the Fallen in the dawn ages of Dwarvenkind. In that conflict, he apparently battled Gharn the Darkbraid alongside Lazdok the Starblade, the duel ending in a stalemate. Koghol was supposedly created by Khuznored, the second oldest of the Firstborn, and so would also have ties to Drak Khuznored.   Koghol likely resembles his daughter, having a mane of red hair, and a matching beard fitting a dwarf. He also has bright blue eyes like his daughter and brothers, an apparent sign of powers granted by the Firstborn. While Tora wields powers which favour the element of fire, accounts suggest that Koghol is a master and wielder of multiple elements, though it seems he also has a predisposition towards flames. It is possible this is related to Drak Khuznored supposedly being located in a cold and icey environment, and so the dwarves there benefitted the most from fire. The root of his title 'Stormfury' is both in his elemental prowess, and his tempestuous disposition.   Koghol has been referred to by a number of titles aside from Stormfury. Apparently the Fallen call him 'Koghol the Coward' for yet unknown reasons, while agents of The Morhaeg refer to him as 'The Burner' for now clear reasons. At some point in the past, Koghol fought alongside elves in the defence of one of their forests, and despite his power the battle was lost. Rather than allowing the enemy to take control of the forest and the secrets that were hidden within it, Koghol burned the forest and all within it - enemies and allies alike. It is possible this was one of the now lost Elven Enclaves.
