Tora Armadul (a.k.a. Child of Fire)

Tora is from Bahn Taig in Karzok Zortemar. Her mother helps run the Firewater Tavern where Tora acquired her cooking skills. She manifested divine powers early in life and was taken to the temple of Zortemar, however when it became apparent that her powers did not stem from The Twelve she was treated unkindly by most of the priests, other novices and acolytes. Tora also developed arcane powers and tried to hide it at first, though eventually it came to light and she was sent away to study magic at the College of Arcane Technique. Tora is still quite young (47 years old, 50 being the cusp of adulthood for Dwarves), naive in many ways but always kind and open-minded. She tries to see the best in people and has a very strong sense of justice. Tora also has a short temper.

Tora is healthy but not very strong and is of average build.

Tora is quite tall for a Dwarf and could be mistaken for a small, sturdy Human woman if one is not familiar with Dwarves.

Tora is good-looking for a Dwarf and has no beard. She has piercing, steel blue eyes and fiery, auburn hair that reaches her waist.

Tora is able to use divine and arcane magic, though she favours the Divine. She has recently started experimenting more with arcane magic, though, and is leaning more and more into her affinity for fire, especially after unveiling her parentage.

Apparel & Accessories

Tora used to wear her cream-coloured novice robes but is now adorned in better quality, tailor-made clothing suited for colder climates. She carries a rapier-like sword (which she never uses) and backpack, and has a holy symbol of The Twelve around her neck. A few strands from the front of her head are tied back with a piece of Warren's (daughter's) red ribbon. She otherwise wears no jewellery or accessories.

Personal history

Tora was born to Daruna Armadul and, at the time, an unknown father. Thanks to the efforts of her friends (and a prophetic vision while under the influence of Ancestor Green), Tora surmised that her father is likely to be either Koghol the Stormfury or Kruvod the Bloodhair, both created directly by the Twelve. Daruna is the cook and co-owner of the Firewater Tavern in Bahn Taig. Tora was taken to the local temple at age 8 and lived there for the most part, returning home to her mother in the evenings to help out at the tavern. Tora was harmonized - she previously belonged to the servant caste like her mother - after her arcane powers showed and was sent to the College of Arcane Technique to study. There, she met up with Warren, Althea, Lorgar and Tiberiax, and together they helped save the College from a demon invasion. They were then sent on the all-important mission to find the missing pieces or a powerful, magical artifact - Gathion's crown. The group has traveled across the peninsula in their quest and both Lorgar and Tiberiax have since left the group, whereas Tora made new friends - Gwen and Duric. As of right now, the party has traversed the Warden Peaks and is exploring what lies north of the peninsula.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Saved the lives of several students and teachers of the College of Arcane Technique while they were under attack by demons, most notably Deputy Headmaster Ambrose Wylt. Fought against a Fallen invasion together with Mjokhad - a Dwarven legend - and was invited to a feast by the king afterwards where she danced with his half-brother, Raregon ak Zortemar. 'Made friends' with Claw - now Wing - Tarnia Zavonius while she was on a diplomatic mission in Bahn Taig. Traveled all the way to Torith (city) and experienced what life in a place is like where arcane magic is openly accepted. Made friends with several Magisters and allied with Magister Oriboros in an effort to collect the crown pieces and to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. Fought 'Black Wings' together with her friends after it was released by the late Magister Loragan, likely saving a lot of lives in the process. Saved the life of a retired Magister, Florian Dormenor, after his mind got trapped by the magic of the crown shard the party gave him for safe-keeping. Made friends with the Marion 'Mary' Berengar, the Lady of Dunhorn. Also made friends with Ruath Druag, Lord of Cardun, who seems to think she is a miniature version of his daughter. Saved Tiberiax's life by negotiating for him to be treated by a Keltoi druid in Cardun after he was infected with lycanthropy. Crossed the Warden Peaks into largely unknown territory! Helped solve a gruesome murder and laid many bodies to rest, releasing them from their pain. Saved the life of Eric, a Krakyrjur survivor, and reunited him with his kin.

Failures & Embarrassments

Failed her cleansing ritual after finishing the temple's basic education and nearly drowned. While on scribe duty in the temple, Tora once set fire to a tome by accident which lead to her arcane powers being discovered by the Head Priest. Couldn't keep her mouth shut and revealed Lorgar's personal secrets to then-Claw Zavonius, and later to the party. Disappointed Cathal by attacking a fleeing enemy. Lost control of her powers and nearly burnt down Lady Berengar's dining room. Failed to help Lorgar and to put his worries to rest, which led to him leaving the group. Made things difficult for her friends on several occasions because of her fear of water. Made a deal with a spirit who took away her memory of nearly drowning in a moment of weakness. Endangered herself and the party by pouring her magic into what turned out to be a baby version of 'Black Wings'.

Mental Trauma

Fear of water and inability to swim due to a near-drowning experience (the memory of the near-drowning experience has since been removed, though the fear of water remains). Lorgar leaving the group and Tora's breakdown. Tora's struggle with her faith after the encounter with 'baby Black Wings'.
