Silas Fenwick
Background
Silas Fenwick grew up in the Ironspire Citadel, the son of two brilliant engineers who designed intricate machinery for the Empire. His childhood was filled with the hum of gears, the hiss of steam, and the warmth of a loving family—until tragedy struck. When Silas was only six, a catastrophic accident at his parents’ workshop claimed their lives. Official reports called it a malfunction, but even as a child, Silas felt something more sinister at play, though he could never prove it.
Silas and his younger brother, Citro, were left orphaned and separated. While Silas was taken in by the Collegio Assassinorum, a secretive and elite order of assassins bound to the Emperor’s will, Citro was left in a state orphanage. Their paths would diverge drastically from that point.
The Assassin’s Training
The Collegio Assassinorum molded Silas into a weapon. Through years of brutal training, he learned how to move unseen, fight with precision, and kill without hesitation. The porcelain mask became his second face, and the weapons he trained in became extensions of his body. Though loyalty to the Collegio was expected, Silas always felt a lingering guilt over leaving Citro behind. Letters between the brothers became rare, and eventually stopped altogether.
Citro’s Journey to Faith
While Silas grew into a silent shadow under the Empire’s command, Citro found solace in spirituality. As a teenager, Citro converted to the Church of the Wandering Saint, embracing its teachings of justice, hope, and personal sacrifice. The church gave him the sense of belonging he had been denied as a child. Eventually, Citro embarked on a pilgrimage to the holy city of Ardentia in the Kingdom of Novaria, seeking to deepen his connection to the Saint’s teachings.
Then, word reached Silas—Citro had been killed in Ardentia. Reports were vague and conflicting. Some said his brother had perished during a holy rite. Others whispered of a secret ritual linked to the church ’s inner mysteries, one that few survived. Grief-stricken and suspicious, Silas knew he couldn’t trust what he’d been told. He needed answers.
Going Rogue
Silas abandoned his assignments without the Collegio ’s permission—an unforgivable act. The Collegio Assassinorum demands absolute loyalty; no assassin is allowed to pursue personal vendettas. By leaving his post, Silas forfeited the trust of the organization, leaving his status in a dangerous state of limbo. While the Collegio has yet to officially brand him a traitor, his absence has not gone unnoticed, and there are rumors that assassins may have been dispatched to hunt him down.
Now on the run, Silas travels toward Novaria, navigating a landscape fraught with danger and uncertainty. His porcelain mask, once a symbol of authority and belonging, is now a liability, drawing unwanted attention from both allies and enemies. Silas is torn between worlds—no longer fully part of the Empire, but not yet accepted by those outside of it.
A Search for the Truth
Silas’s quest to uncover the truth behind Citro’s death is both a search for redemption and revenge. Was his brother’s death an unfortunate tragedy, or was something darker lurking within the Church of the Wandering Saint? Silas carries a growing suspicion that the church’s leaders may have misused Citro’s faith for their own purposes—and if so, Silas will make them pay, even if it means toppling the very foundation of the Saint’s legend.
Though Silas possesses the deadly skills of an assassin, his heart is divided. He is a man haunted by guilt—guilt for abandoning Citro, guilt for the lives he has taken, and guilt for the oath he has broken with the Collegio.
