Marcount Uthric Nethergrey
The Marcount, Lord Viceroy of Ehrethir of the Continent of Ehrethir and the Capital City of Coldhaven, the Ruler and Protector of the Northern Realms. Second only to King Godred IV of Avateyne.
Uthric has many political enemies in Ehrethir, being an Avateynian with Avateynian blood, ruling over the conquered land of Ehrethir. In addition, the Marcount holds a grudge against practitioners of the arcane, and beings of a more monstrous appearance or heritage. This hatred stems from the death of Uthric's first wife and their unborn daughter, who died from an illness and complications during childbirth, but blamed the deaths on a warlock who tried to save the unborn child, but failed. Uthric did not immediately ban the use of magic in Coldhaven, but his fears and hatreds remained steadfast, and over the years he enacted a number of anti-arcane policies. The public is mostly behind Uthric's crusade against arcane magic, and its many mysterious properties. But that is only partly true, as an entire city of arcane refugees, casters, magically-gifted individuals, and bestial humanoids have assembled in the caverns below the city, in a location known as "Spellhaven".
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Uthric is not much older than his friend Lord Revin Slatewater, but appears to be much older and unhealthier. The years have taken a heavy toll on the Marcount, mentally, emotionally, and physically. He has recently survived a mysterious illness, which sapped much of his remaining strength. He is returning to a semblance of health slowly, but he is not likely to snap back to a picture of health overnight.
It is obvious that Uthric was once extrmeely handsome, but some of that attractiveness has been owrn away by heavy years and hard times.

Personal history
Uthric was born in Avateyne, firstborn and heir to the throne of House Nethergrey. He was a gifted fighter and student as a youth, which led to his enrollment at the prestigious War College of Laedon, where he met his first and greatest friend, Lord Revin Slatewater. The two friends went to war, and fought together in the Lawtorn Wars, and at the Battle of the Westlands, where Slatewater became known as the Wolf of the Westlands.
When Godric II conquered Ehrethir, he attempted to seal a peaceful future by having Uthric's grandfather, Yorthric, the head of House Nethergrey marry Caliope, the Widow-Queen of Ehrethir, taking the title of Marcount, Lord Viceroy of Ehrethir, and ruling as a representative of the Crown. Eventually, Uthric inherited this rank from his father and grandfather before him. Uthric's wife Calliope, gave him a son, Ethered, before she died in childbirth attmepting to produce a daughter. Uthric quickly remarried, for the sake of appearances, but rumors of dalliances with other women surfaced, and were proven to be true, when a bastard son emerged, named Marek Sand. Rumors of other illegitimate heirs persisted as well.
