Tarin
Tarin Everwen
Tarin was a young apprentice wizard to Ellixander Woodworthat The Sorcerer's Source, the only magic shop of any significance in Fleet Town. Tarin had a keen interest and aptitude in magic from a young age, but there were very few places where she could learn or practice the craft. Unfortunately, Woodworth held certain archaic views about gender roles, and did not allow girls to work in his shop or study magical secrets. So Tarin disguised herself as a boy in order to gain access to the shop's scrolls and spellbooks. Tarin learned much working in the shop, but nonetheless, the mundane life as a shopboy, combined with Woodworth's sexism, made her long to escape the doldrums of the frontier town and her grating master. Luckily for her, Timoo Timbertown came along and asked her to join Hubert's Companions as an apprentice alchemist.
Tarin maintained her disguise a boy in order to fit in for some time travelling with the group. She was eventually discovered, when Timoo wandered into her room and accidentally caught her during mid-dressing. Timoo assured her that her gender had no bearing to him on her work or future as a wizard, and so from then on she gladly stopped disguising herself.

The teenager is a bit nervous, but she is also gregarious, eager to help, and very excited to be a member of Hubert's Companions.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
When she was disguised as a boy, Tarin dressed in a more disheveled and sloppy manner, and made efforts to appear messy and disorganized, in an effort to distract from her actual gender. Once she put the ruse aside, it turns out she is actually quite put-together, well-organized, and extremely meticulous in both dress and manner.
Likes & Dislikes
Tarin loves magic and has not lost her wonder for all the things it can do. She also has a sweet tooth.
Virtues & Personality perks
Tarin is extremely hard working. She often burns the candle at both ends, staying up late and working hard on her tasks. She is eager to make an impression, and rarely makes mistakes.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Tarin's former teacher and employer Ellixander Woodworth was previously Tarin's only real acquaintance. While she was treated fairly at her job, she often had to work grueling hours to satisfy Woodworth, and she often had to bear his constant sexism without comment, out of fear of reprisal. She was eager to leave his employment and has not missed him or the cold, bitter climate of Fleet Town much at all.
Since joining Hubert's Companions she has made fast friends with the entire retinue. She looks of to Timoo as a mentor, and is exceptionally impressed by Narrassah of the Twirling Spear, whom she sees as a strong female role-model. She and Howe Irontoe get along very well, and often converse and joke with each other while they work. Meeka has become like a little sister to Tarin, and her fondness for the little kobold girl is obvious. She feeds Jerome treats whenever Yarpen Zigren isn't looking and loves to cuddle up to his soft fur at night.
Family Ties
Tarin's family was rather large, and had no interest in fostering her magical interests, nor did they really have the resources to help her along. Her father was rarely present at home, and her mother struggled to give equal attention to all her children. Her siblings were competitive, and did not seem to understand her interests or beliefs. She left her family to work for The Sorcerer's Source as soon as she was at an age to get a job, and her family did not seem to begrudge her this. Any emotional ties to her family have seemingly been severed at this point.
Religious Views
Tarin follows Mágosa, the goddess of magic and water. She is not exceedingly faithful, but she remembers to say her prayers weekly and makes occasional offerings at her Temples when they are near one.
Social Aptitude
Tarin has evolved from a disheveled, messy young boy into a well-mannered, pleasant young girl. Much of this was in fact, an affected mannerism which she dropped once her disguise was no longer necessary.
Mannerisms
Tarin is careful about her movements and behaviors. She knows that clumsiness in the lab can lead to accidents, which lead to injuries. She is well-spoken and has precise diction.
Hobbies & Pets
Tarin has a familiar, a hawk named Minerva, which she is quite fond of. She also considers Jerome to be her pet almost as much as Minerva.
Speech
Tarin is well-spoken and has precise diction.
