Howe Irontoe was a normal ogre until one day, he raided the lair of a harpy who had been hoarding magical items. Unaware of what she had in her posession, one of these items was a magical Headband of Intellect, which when worn, would increase the intelligence and civility of any creature. Instinctually, the brutish ogre, wrapped the strap around his head and was instantly gifted with a keen understanding and awareness of himself and his current state. He left the wilderness, cleaned and clothed himself as best he could, and came to the nearest city that would accept him, which happened to be Coldhaven. Some of the local nobles found him intriguing and began paying him to attend parties as a waiter or servant, with the intent of showing him off to their friends as a novelty. Howe suffered these indignities for as long as he could, and then used the proceeds to eventually enroll at the College of Arts and Artifice, to learn a trade.

Howe was still large and muscled like most ogres.

Howe had a smaller gut than most ogres because he had stopped feeding on so much red meat.

Howe had a brutishly short nose, a pair of tusks that protruded from his mouth, and a pair of stubby ears. His eyes twinkled more brightly than most ogres.

Howe walked upright with excellent posture, a stark contrast to most ogres who lumbered along with a hunched back.
