Varcanai Palace (Far-can-I- Pal-ice)

The Ca'rthavial Palace

C.R. Eede
Varcanai Palace:
  • Name: The Caelorian Palace (later amended to Varcanai Palace)
  • Motto: "One People. One Kingdom."
  • Crest: One Hyphicen head with saer branches weaving in and out of its antlers.
  • Symbolism: Benevolence, Growth, Legacy, and Endurance.
  • Recognition: 2998 NE
  • Contribution: It is the national identity of Aethel Caeloria, leads its citizens, acts as a focus for unity and pride, recognises success and excellence, gives a sense of continuity, supports voluntary service, maintains alliances and forges new ones, conducts regular council gatherings, fairly distributes finances, and more.
  • Location: Varcanai Palace, C'avarnia
  • Royal Bloodline: King Filarion Aalarelai, Queen Lensa Aalarelai, Prince Vaeril Aalarelai, Princess Zestari Aalarelai, Advisor Ralnor Aalarelai, and Commander of the Varcanai Guard; Linthuwai Aalarelai.
Varcanai Palace is the building where the royal bloodline, Aalarelai, lives and conducts formal national matters through the Varcanai Council. The building is an entrance into C'avarnia, naturally connecting to Jujinal Wall. The capital's gate has two parts: The saer gates and the wien barricade. When the city is under attack, the wien doors slam into the ground, providing an additional layer of protection against outside forces.   The royal bloodline in this building is formally known as Ca'rthavial Elves, commonly known to the people as 'light elves.' This is because raw starlight naturally courses through their veins, establishing a closer connection with their god, Nelaeryn. This allows the royal bloodline to face raw starlight with more resistance and intense immunity.

Structure

The Royal Bloodline: There is a structure and hierarchy to the monarch found within Varcanai Palace, which the Aalarelai bloodline upholds to the highest standards. Each family member has a responsibility and heightened sense of duty they must exert each day throughout the year. Monarch as below:
  • The King: The reigning sovereign leads and manages the entire kingdom. The monarch's role is to protect all the lands, fairly distribute wealth and trade, and take care of the kingdom's citizens. Furthermore, he must insist on the importance of upkeeping traditions between high elven cultures and ensure all uphold the law by attending court sessions with the Elders of Claritas and Virtuous Order.
  • The Queen: The reigning queen deals with spiritual and welfare-invoked military matters. She also deals with negotiations between other kingdoms and areas.
  • The Prince: The firstborn prince shadows his father in his responsibilities to prepare for the ascension to kingship. To ensure the kingdom is kept safe, he makes regular trips to the neighbouring houses offering his assistance where he can, which often keeps him busy. Additionally, the prince must undertake national service in the Varcanai Guard and Caelorian Incline to ensure he is trained by the best fighters possible.
  • The Princess: The firstborn elfa of the reigning sovereign instantly becomes the Seed of the Starlight Veil; therefore, her responsibility is to use her voice to communicate the words of the sacred monument and tend to its needs.
  • The Advisor: The King's advisor would often be a loyal retainer and companion, accompanying him where necessary and ensuring members of the Varcanai Guard accompany the King and other royal members.
  • The Advisor's Elflings: These elflings can take up any role they like within the kingdom. If the positions of Coin collector, Commander or Captain of the Varcanai Guard are not filled, they will serve them as a matter of duty. If the roles are filled, the royal palace places the elflings into the Varcanai Guard, fastening their progression through the ranks, thus becoming squadron leaders faster than their peers.
Additional Sovereign Elflings: Suppose the reigning sovereign has more than two elflings. In that case, they are placed into the Varcanai Guard, Glazed Temple, or the Haven of Solaris immediately to ensure they serve the crown equally responsible as their siblings.

Culture

The Culture of House Aalarelai, Filarion: Under Filarion Aalarelai's rule, the culture of Aethel Caeloria is a far-right conservative and paternalistic society. He is unwilling to change with the times, believing that the old ways will continue to push his kin and people through life with ease. Aethel Caeloria is currently ruled through traditional thinking rather than abstract political thinking, which the Varcanai Council offers but is denied of. King Filarion has been taught by his father, Eca Aalarelai and his father before him that elven society must remain hierarchical, thus allowing the kingdom to thrive under a soloist rule. He believes that the hierarchal monarch allows for the preservation of the entire kingdom instead of protecting one part of the kingdom at the expense of other lands.   King Filarion's Conservative Values: Filarion Aalarelai is portrayed as an iron-fisted, arrogant king who shows no mercy towards those who do not believe in the same values as him. Far from flawless, he is an elf dedicated to protecting Aethel Caeloria regardless of his prejudices and bigoted ways. However, he is incredibly protective of his kin, ensuring they agree with his principles and are well-cared for in the future. Filarion's gravest failure is his inability to admit to the responsibility of parting from his ancestors' traditionalist values, thus carrying them on during his reign. He sometimes showed poor judgement on various occasions, being selective in his accusations to benefit his rule. Additionally, he was considered stubborn in his ways detained to carry on in his king and military leadership duties. His wife, Lensa, believes his personality is because his father, Eca, treated him poorly, leaving him emotionally tormented that he will never be a 'good enough king' for his people. Below are some of his values:
  • A social scale is needed to persevere
  • Traditions must be upheld to the highest standard
  • Same-sex relationships are not permitted
  • Loyalty must remain to the crown
  • Everyone must adhere to continuity linking each generation to the next
  • Elves of colour/physical and emotional differences are not allowed within C'avarnia
  • All actions must have decisive consequences
Filarion, as a proud elf, is often concerned about his public image as a king and is highly fixated on the idea of presenting himself as the 'perfect' king that others should strive to be like in manner and personality. He is perceived as strong, just, virile, and decisive by those who share his views, mainly those from his generation. He believes that showing weakness and tears is a sign of weakness towards the kingdom's foes as they might attempt to take advantage of his vulnerable state.   The Culture of House Aalarelai, Vaeril: Under Vaeril's rule, the culture of Aethel Caeloria is fair and chivalrous, taking the complete opposite stance of his forebears. While he still possesses a hierarchal position, he believes in the power of shared thoughts and how they can improve all the lands to keep up with the constant changes in broader society. Vaeril was brought up under his father's traditionalist views. Still, since integrating with the world outside of his place of birth, he has come to learn of modern opinions and ways of life, which have influenced the way he thinks and acts in accordance with the welfare and general progression of his kingdom. Vaeril is a talented leader capable of inspiring great loyalty. His dedication is generally forthcoming, and he would never ask his people to do something he wouldn't do, which the people of Aethel Caeloria come to respect and appreciate. However, he often questions whether he deserves such devotion given what his ancestors have cruelly put the people through in the past.   Vaeril Aalarelai's Virtuous Values: Filarion's son, Vaeril Aalarelai, is the complete opposite of his father and knows traditionalist views can only get the kingdom so far, believing in the innovations of modern technology and cultures. Though good-hearted, as time passed, he matured even more and developed two close friendships, which influenced his choices to improve the kingdom. Vaeril tends to have negative opinions about his father's policies, particularly his agreement with the Caelorian Accord and the banishment of undesirables. Unlike Filarion, his greatest conviction is justice, peace, and change. He wants to implement a sense of equality and diversity into his reign as the future king, banishing his ancestors' outdated and cruel laws. Below are some of his values:
  • A hierarchy is needed, but a political structure of elected representatives should be allowed to alleviate the workload of their respective trades.
  • Believes in fairness within all aspects of life, and it should be applied within the kingdom's teaching of elflings
  • Same-sex relationships should be permitted and encouraged
  • Elves of colour and differences should be allowed within C'avarnia, and the Caelorian Accord should be dismantled
  • Equality and diversity should reign throughout the kingdom
  • The laws of the land should be revised to accompany modern innovations
  • Aethel Caeloria should treat its citizens and non-natives as a loving community rather than as individuals
Vaeril is, at times, conflicted when presented with complex moral dilemmas, such as being torn between loyalty to his father and protection of the ordinary people, placing him in an awkward position. He has great admiration and love for the elves of Aethel Caeloria, frequently acting to ensure their safety and wellbeing is his top priority. He is also unwilling to allow others to sacrifice their time to fix problems that he has caused, for responsibility and his public image of a fair and just elf means more to him than anything. He wants the people to be able to rely on him without feeling there would be consequences for their requests. Many deem Vaeril a "better elf" than his father, which causes him to show deep emotion but only to those closest to him.

Assets

Varcanai Palace is a large establishment and the face of C'avarnia upon one's arrival through the gates. It has also been granted as its section of the kingdom because it is so big as it is a significant structure that all elves can look to, knowing that the royal bloodline of Aalarelai resides inside. House Aalarelai bears many assets within its section of the capital, which contribute to the beauty of Aethel Caeloria overall. The primary urban-related asset would be its enormity and grandeur while connecting to Jujinal Wall. See below:   Architecture:
  • Jujinal Wall: The palace is a part of the Jujinal Wall structure; therefore, its exterior comprises anthracite and limestone. The face of Varcanai Palace takes the form of a large smooth triangular rock formation. The rock is incredibly strong and stable, able to withstand strong attacks. Due to the enormity of the wall, it can comfortably fit multiple large establishments within and protect them from outside forces and harsher seasons. From an isometric and bird-eye viewpoint, the wall takes the shape of a crown, with Varcanai Palace being the centrepiece. The exterior of the wall around the palace has specially carved arched windows for the Aalarelai bloodline to peer out of.
  • The Mountain Face: There is a vast art piece carved into the face of the mountain, which is of the Starlight Veil. Surrounding that artistic work is intricately carved leaves on branches which span around the mountain face.
  • The Formal Entrance: The entrance of the Varcanai Palace sees a double-barricaded gate made of saer and wien. The first layer is made of a solid saer portcullis. The second layer comprises two heavy wien gate barricades, enforced by a steel mechanism to secure them in place.
  • Informal Entrance: The entrance used by elves who regularly use the Varcanai Palace must use the door to the left-hand side of the formal opening, between the width of Jujinal Wall. This entrance isn't fancy or grandeur. It's a black door with flat saer hexagonal doorknobs and carved branch-like patterns in the wood.
  • Glasswork: The glasswork of the building is pristine, with some comprising clear glass panes while others have white stained glass, but all windows are either arch-shaped or vertically rectangular. All windows have white or grey velvet curtains.
  • The Roof: This consists of anthracite and limestone rock, a part of the Jujinal Wall; however, the concave consists of labradorite rock. The roof itself is unlevel due to the formation of the mountain.
  • The Interior: The inside walls are formed of obsidian and labradorite rock. While many of the walls are composed of obsidian for the artwork, the upper walls and roofing is made of labradorite rock.
  • The Flooring: The flooring throughout the building consists of black and white marble and brown walnut wood.
  • Lighting: Natural sun and moonlight can easily shine through the large windows, but every floor also has a crystalline chandelier. The ground floor's chandelier is the grandest, bearing ten tiers with a large waterfall shape. The other floors have smaller waterfall-shaped chandeliers with four tiers or less. The palace also has saer sconces with candles and hanging lanterns around the entire structure to ensure the night is well illuminated.
Floors: There is a total of four floors and one crypt within Varcanai Palace. See as below:
  1. Ground Floor: This floor consists of the pantry and throne room. The ground floor is highly vast, consisting of a long foyer which stretches into the throne hall. Along the long hallway are saer-veined black marble columns that stretch down to the throne and near the walls. The ground floor walls are filled with one long piece of carved artwork telling the different stories of Aethel Caeloria's history. The roof of this floor is filled with labradorite, offering a blue shimmer when the sunlight shines through the large clear paned rectangular windows.
  2. First Floor: This floor consists of multiple rooms. Fifty staterooms are vacated for special occasions, such as royal visits from other kingdoms and elves of importance coming to stay in the kingdom for political reasons. However, the most significant room is the royal living area, spanning a broad and open space for royal gatherings. The space is so vast that elves could run around in it. The more than generous room features white and grey panelling, marbled flooring, opulent gold accents through the furnishings, arched windows, and a vast expanse of grey rug. In the corner are two instruments, a large white and gold grand piano and a lute. There are grey velvet curtains in swags at the windows, a portrait of the Aalarelai bloodline throughout the years along the walls, and three deeply comfortable-looking low back lounge sofas with elegant golden designs around a grand fireplace. A few individual white cushioned armchairs scatted around the room neatly, accompanied by shelves of books or just a place to bask in the light. One ornate grand mirror at the rear of the room attests to the vast collections of furniture the Aalarelai bloodline possesses.
  3. Second Floor: This floor consists of the royal quarters, which oversee the entirety of C'avarnia. There are ten rooms on the second floor; four are vacant. The King and Queen's room is the largest while everyone else's is slightly smaller. Most rooms have balconies with saer railings and metal leaf-shaped metal wiring weaving in and out.
  4. Attic: The attic of the mountain is an enclosed room where the Varcanai Council takes place. The entire room was made of the finest smooth walnut wood laid by the best in the kingdom. White and saer coloured Aalarelai banners ran along the walls with vintage fleur-de-lis patterns in gold. A large arched window with tinted white glass gifted from Galsra and drawn grey velvet curtains were at the room's end. The room's centre had a long smooth dark acacia table with a table runner and a saer tassel on both ends. Thirteen chairs sat around the outside of the table, too, for each significant member of the Varcanai Council.
  5. Dilax Crypt: Underneath the palace is a place formally known as 'Dilax Crypt,' but commonly known as 'The Caelorian Vault' to outsiders. It is a cave surrounded by nature-filled rocky walls. The vault's ground is submerged in clear shallow waters with a faint light reflecting a book stand in the cave's centre. Stone steps decline into the cave's waters, making it eerie as all one had was the darkness and silence for company. The reflective light shines rays around the room and back into the water, offering a mystical appearance. The centre of the room has a stone stand cursed by age and is slowly crumbling due to generational decay.
Rooms and Significant Structures:
  • The Pantry: The pantry on the ground floor is vast and filled with different food shelves. The pantry is also where the Aalarelai bloodline employs a team of Varcanian elves. The head of the group is led by the Ivory Orchid's Armadetta Singreta, who is a renowned chef throughout the lands of Aethel Caeloria.
  • The Throne: Near the end of the hall is a throne made of pure saer built upon three white marble steps with avial gemstones from the Ca'rthavial Vales, shining ever bright on the step's riser. The throne has runic symbols along its hinds and armrests. On the throne's rear is the Aalarelai Sigil engraved into the centre, one Hyphicen head with saer branches weaving in and out of its antlers and the quote, "Erune dei vasqata" arched underneath. The Aalarelai Sigil is highly significant because of its direct bloodline to their God, Nelaeryn, the most remarkable and first-ever Ca'rthavial elf.
  • The Faces of Importance: Before entering the throne room, there is a wall of three steep concaves with intricate head sculptures of important Kings of Aethel Caeloria. These sculptures are of Miha Aalarelai, Varcanai Aalarelai, and Dihavanor Aalarelai, for the feats they accomplished in their time are considered wholly triumphant.
  • The Hyphicen Statue:  Behind the throne is the biggest intricately carved wooden statue of the sacred Hyphicen in its full glory, placed upon two platforms. The lower platform is ebony marble, while the upper platform is white with saer veins. The statue is 15-foot tall. The Hyphicen stands in a tranquil position with its head held high.
  • The Royal Quarters: Each royal chamber is different due to personal taste but is triple the size of the staterooms offered to guests. In these rooms are wooden desks, a table and sofas, a large bookcase, rugs, a balcony, laced curtains, velvet and laced king-sized canopy bed (for the King and Queen), and everyone else has a Queen-sized or double bed. There is also a vanity table, mannequins for unique clothing, large portraits of different artwork, wardrobes, arched windows, weapon racks and stands, and notable additions made from the elves' tastes.
  • The Staterooms: The staterooms take a neutral colour theme: dark grey and white with tawny brown wooden flooring and small rounded chandeliers. Each room has a canopy double bed fitted with silk sheets and a warm feather-filled duvet. There is a large grey or white rug on the floor too. Furnishings include a wooden desk, a well-made cushioned seat, a small reading cabinet, a secure wooden chest, a wardrobe and arched windows.
  • The Caelorian Annals: The stand inside Dilax Crypt holds a tome unique only to the Aalarelai bloodline. This tome is known as 'The Caelorian Annals,' which records all the deeds of former Kings and Queens of Aethel Caeloria. Some are illegible with runic symbols from the ancient language, R'iavantra, some incorporated the old language, L'aiavanto, and other parts bore the universal language, S'itradil. Locked with an aged saer chain, it is rustic to the very touch. Only the Aalarelai bloodline can access its secrets, as the scriptures inside are of the deeds and experiences throughout their ancestors' lives to the days before their passing. Specific memories of the past can be retrieved through readings of the inked words, and the Caelorian Annals can show a vision of what they wanted to see as if in a dream with waking eyes.

Specific Details:
  1. The Caelorian Annals Creation: During Miha Aalarelai's reign, he thought it would be good to create annals of each sovereignty's memories and life experiences. It was a unique book because it enabled the reader to relive the moment through the moving words throughout the book. It would be passed down from generation to generation. Only those of the Aalarelai bloodline could access the memories, but no one else was permitted to see them.
  2. Aethel Caeloria's Expansion: This was during Jujinal Aalarelai's reign. He decided to make the outer wall of Aethel Caeloria bigger, thus fitting more into the kingdom. He did this by reshaping the rocks around the kingdom and creating a large circular shape allowing more room inside. He did this because he realised the high elven population was increasing, and more space was needed to accommodate them. He would not turn his people away, so he worked day and night almost all of his life with his people to see that the kingdom was big enough to fit everyone inside. This came to be known as 'Jujinal Wall.'
  3. The Crypts Reveal: During Dilax Aalarelai's reign, he discovered an empty area below the Royal Palace with shallow waters. This became a place only the Aalarelai bloodline could access and where the 'Caelorian Annals' were kept. He placed his bare feet inside the water and was greeted by his ancestors in a vivid dream-like state.
  4. Rebuilding Aethel Caeloria: During this time, many changes took place in the kingdom. Multiple parts of the kingdom were re-positioned to align with the Starlight Veil in the kingdom's centre. Everyone, including the royal family, united to rebuild their kingdom and make it impenetrable to outside forces.
  5. Varcanai Aalarelai's Reign: Varcanai Aalarelai grew up to become a very vain elf and decided that the kingdom needed more of his name infused into it, so he renamed as much as he could as a way of leaving a worthy legacy behind. He renamed the council to 'The Varcanai Council,' the royal guard to 'The Varcanai Guard,' native citizens to 'Varcanians,' and the royal palace to 'Varcanai Palace.' People were not happy with this but let it pass, regardless.

Military

The Varcanai Guard occupies and protects the palace day and night. Their utmost priority is to ensure the royal family is kept safe. Without them, the kingdom will remain stationary and not move, thus becoming an easy target for outside forces. Varcanai guards stand both inside and outside the building and must patrol the entire building under the Commander and Captain's commands.

Religion

The primary religion within C'avarnia is the worship of Nelaeryn. It is not forbidden to practise any other religion, but it is frowned upon as Aethel Caeloria prides itself on its traditional beliefs. The Haven of Solaris' priests does their best to learn about other religions so that they have the answers to any questions posed by the uneducated. Additionally, the Chosen welcomes inquiries from other faiths. It gives them the tools to conduct further research and compare it to their god to see the possible resemblances of god-like qualities. It is primarily the elderly elves who are set upon devoting their lives to the worship of Nelaeryn, but the younger generations are open to more than one. This often causes a divide between the young and the old, and the Haven of Solaris is caught in the middle appeasing neither side but instead standing as a barricade between the opposing forces. The chosen flames and melodic do their best to ease the stresses of both sides, offering kind words and teaching either side what Nelaeryn would have done from his ancient texts.   The Aalarelai bloodline must learn every aspect and detail of Nelaeryn and his teachings as a matter of duty and become role models to travellers and natives who ask them about their god. The high priest and priestess teach the elflings of the reigning sovereign specifically to ensure they catch up and learn from the elves who devote their lives to the teachings of Nelaeryn. This traditionally takes place throughout every generation of Ca'rthavial elves to ensure they understand why they are different from high elves and have starlight coursing throughout their veins, a gift from Nelaeryn himself.

Foreign Relations

Varcanai Palace's Aalarelai bloodline has diplomatic relations with many lands to ensure their trade lines and relationships are stable. The great kingdom of Galsra is their primary alliance, but Prince Vaeril wants to extend the Aalarelai name further outwards and make peace with those who have been wronged in the past by his ancestors.

Trade & Transport

Transport: Different modes of transport are used for various reasons. The Hyphicen is used by the royal bloodline to attend significant events, such as the Blades Edge Tournament and global gatherings etc., while horses and wagons transport large goods to different lands. There is only one royal wagon in the kingdom used by the Queen, which is only for long-distance travel.   Trade: The trade comes in the form of food, income, weapons, books, tomes, scrolls, etc. Elves from other kingdoms and neighbouring houses trade with Varcanai Palace, which offers a stable line of communication and trust between them.

Education

Sovereign Education:  Education for royal elflings is taught by the reigning sovereigns and their kin to ensure they learn everything necessary to prepare them for future responsibilities. The King and his brother(s) cover the fundamental knowledge of Aethel Caelorian history and manners in modern-day society, how to greet elves from other kingdoms, the fundamental laws and customs of global royal leadership, and more. However, the Queen and her sister(s) cover the social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language aspects of life to help with development later on.    The Principles of Nelaeryn: The High Priest and Priestess teach the principles of Nelaeryn from the Haven of Solaris alone due to the importance of their god's divine words. Furthermore, these priests will teach the elflings of the sovereign the matter of atonement and prayer, giving them the tools they need to respect their god. Ca'rthavial Elves are known to bear a more holy line of communication with Nelaeryn through their dreams.   Laws of the Land: The three Elders of Claritas teach the elflings of the Aalarelai bloodline to ensure they are kept up to date with the rules, enforcement, and reporting.   Self Defence:  Elflings must attend the Varcanai Guard and, if selected, the Caelorian Incline throughout their entire elflinghood to ensure they rise through the ranks with a faster succession. They must learn basic, advanced, and elite self-defence as is expected of royalty.   Shadow Work:  The prince must shadow his father's work to gain more experience in all of his responsibilities, thus carrying the burden of duty from an early age. The more experience gained is more preparation for future kingship, which the prince must uptake whether he wants to or not.    National and International Community Service: The prince must undergo more national service than his peers to accommodate prolonged community service in and out of the kingdom. This demonstrates his duty and loyalty to the crown through discipline and obedience.

Infrastructure

The Infrastructure of the kingdom is relatively simple:
  • Jujinal Wall: Around the outside of the entire kingdom is the impenetrable wall of Jujinal carved during 2397 NE – 1675 NE. This wall was carved to resemble a crown from an isometric and bird-eye viewpoint. From a direct point of view, it appears to be a towering structure.
  • Sewage: This is controlled through drains found throughout the kingdom. The sewage of the kingdom is filtered and then released beyond the Ca'rthavial Vales to ensure no harm comes to the waters and sea life.
  • Roads/Pathways: All roads within the kingdom of Aethel Caeloria are connected from Dihavanor's Sphere in the centre. From there, the roads expand out towards House M'ithai, House Tythal, the Ca'rthavial Vales and along the kingdom's borders.
  • Throne Room: Varcanai Palace has a throne room within its palace, which is where all deeds are recognised, the citizens of the kingdom are heard, and issues are resolved with the Varcanai Council. This is one of the most important rooms throughout the entire palace.
  • The Barrier: Outside Jujinal Wall is a barrier of Varcanai guards standing around the kingdom with their staffs touching to form a vaguely invisible barrier to outsiders.
  • The Saer Gate: Underneath the entrance into the kingdom is a large saer gate that is only ever opened and closed by the Varcanai Guards standing on duty.

Mythology & Lore

  • The Old Kings Return: This myth is thousands of years old and surrounds the Kings of Old (Each King of the Kingdom that has ruled). It is said that during the kingdom's fall, the Spirits of the Kings of Old will break from their Saer temples (H’ilvatruth) and fight with every last breath until the kingdom is free from the evil spirits that control it. Aethel Caelorians believe this to be true because of the alignment of statues found within the Summerglossed fields. It isn't easy to know whether there is validity to this. The only object of this tale is ‘Nithavideon,’ which is the King’s sword.
  • The Fallen Rise: It is said that the Caelorian queens will arise from their dormant state to fight alongside the Seed of the Starlight Veil upon the Forsaken's return. All the Queens of the Aalarelai Bloodline will rise from the saer cavities of the Starlight Veil to protect the Seed through their mystical abilities and enforce life transference to go ahead if necessary.

Divine Origins

All origins of myths throughout Aethel Caeloria were written and rumoured during and after the War of Faiths in 233 NE. Once the Forsaken were defeated, tales of kingly returns emerged from beneath the surface and lived on through the many generations giving the elves of the kingdom something to be hopeful for should anything apocalyptic ever return to plague their lands and lives.

Cosmological Views

The Three Stars of Aethel Caeloria: Shining brightly above the great kingdom, Aethel Caeloria is three stars akin to one another. These stars have had stories made up about them and artwork made. The god, Nelaeryn, loved gazing up at the night sky so much that he was inspired to create his kingdom and people around underneath an almighty bright star able to illuminate lands up to thousands of miles away. He also created twin stars to accompany the primary one, which makes up a family of stars in the sky. These stars are found directly above the Ca'rthavial Vales. See the stars below:
  • The Caelorian Avialgeontrix: This can only be viewed by the impeccable vision of Ca'rthavial elves, for it is a gift given by Nelaeryn. In the midnight black sky, it takes the form of a compass star shining ever-bright and white. This is the brightest star in the universe. The Caelorian Avialgeontrix is so bright that it is known to all the gods of Caede Galair. It is evident because the star has high intrinsic brightness relative to other stars and is relatively close to the planet. The mass of this star is (according to scholars) three times the mass of Caede Galair's sun.
  • The Athominia: A marquise/oval star shape that shines a warmer colour than its twin. It glows a bright yellow and is half the size of the Caelorian Avialgeontrix.
  • The Mydha: A marquise/oval star shape that shines a colder colour than its kin. It shines a dim blue and is half the size of the Caelorian Avialgeontrix.

"One People. One Kingdom."

The Varcanai Palace: This is where the Aalarelai bloodline resides, and the Varcanai Council takes place. The palace is a part of Jujinal Wall, where the building was excavated and decorated during the first Aalarelai reign. The structure is four floors tall and has a crypt underneath it where a royal book is situated.
Dilax Crypt: Underneath the palace is a place formally known as 'Dilax Crypt,' but commonly known as 'The Caelorian Vault' to outsiders. It is a cave surrounded by nature-filled rocky walls, and the ground is submerged in clear shallow waters with a faint light reflecting a book stand in the cave's centre. The centre of the room has a stone stand cursed by age and is slowly crumbling due to generational decay.

Judicial Body
Elves are taught from a young age by the Elders of Claritas, the D'ivalorth and Vythai (if in position), and from generation to generation of families. In Varcanai Palace, it is the job of the reigning King and Queen to teach their elflings about the laws of the land. Furthermore, royal elflings are taught about the laws of other lands as a compulsory formality.
Executive Body
The Varcanai Guard of C'avarnia, Howlite Clan of House M'ithai, and Caelorian Incline of House Tythal enforce these laws throughout their lands. Additionally, the D'ivalorth and Vythai within Incrementum, the Virtuous Order within the Haven of Solaris, and the Elders of Claritas also enforce them. Those residing within Varcanai Palace are expected to know the laws and enforce them when necessary, which only usually happens among travellers and those unknown to Aethel Caelorian lands.

The Caelorian Annals: During Miha Aalarelai's reign, he thought it would be good to create annals of each sovereignty's memories and life experiences. It was a unique tome because it enabled the reader to relive a historical moment in Aalarelai scriptures through moving words.
