Lizardtamer Character in Aeternia | World Anvil

Lizardtamer

Lizardtamer is a fierce, (relatively) smart matronly gnoll who leads the largest pack of gnolls in The Spire of Beasts. She is a powerful cleric of Yeenoghu who longs to go back to the good ol' days, when gnolls were slavers.

Yes We Clan

It had long been hard to be a gnoll, forced into a shanty town, discriminated against by guards, struggling daily to find enough clean food and water just to survive. When Bright Futures, Inc. began its operations in the Spire, they made some very attractive offers — but Lizardtamer would have none of it. To any gnolls who would give up their identity in hard times, she would denounce them as prey — or slay them herself.   Over time, those gnolls still devoted to Lizardtamer would find their reward.

To Tame a Lizard

As with most gnolls, "Lizardtamer" is not her actual name, but a title. Trapped and mostly helpless, Lizardtamer produced — through methods not quite clear — the living hide of a brass dragon, Morn'Tharur. Its gleaming scales ripe for harvest, the gnolls had found access to a rare and exclusive resource that's highly sought-after by alchemists, armor crafters, and even the odd collector here and there.   The gnolls are not alone in this, however. A pack of kobolds also have access to this dragon — the other end, through a different entrance. They pose a problem, as they do not approve of this harvesting. This has led to an ongoing conflict between the gnolls and kobolds, which seems to be at a virtual stalemate as neither side has enough power or resources to gain a significant enough upper-hand over the other — as much as Lizardtamer would love to have access to more parts of the dragon.

Special abilities

Abilities that Lizardtamer has used so far:
  • An unknown spell that gave her some sort of information about the history of a tooth.
  • A spell that summoned spirits of enslaved humans as her guardians.
  • She was able to cure some physical wounds on touch.
  • With her claw firmly on Kesmet's shoulder, she inflicted some nasy wounds on him.
  • She pointed at Grogery, and with the toll of a bell, did some damage that would have surely made Kesmet dead if aimed at him.
