Human

Humans can be thought of as the morphological standard among Elanni; even though wide differences in form and function can be found, all Elanni possess certain "humanoid" traits. They are all bipedal, having legs and feet, and arms and hands. Outside of a few shapeshifting races, all Elanni possess one characteristically human head, with two eyes, two ears, a nose and a mouth. Even beast-form races generally adhere to this basic structure, though the shape and effectiveness of their features may differ.
Humans are widely compatible with other Elanni, able to reproduce with almost all of the various races. As such, most half-type races are predominately half-human, half-other. Human genes are also quite strong, tending to express even when sharing genetic space with another dominant gene from another race. As a result, an area with a 50/50 demographic split between humans and another Elanni race will, over many generations and assuming little or no immigration or emigration, begin to have the appearance of a human majority even if the overall distribution of genes from both races remain more or less in balance. In very diverse regions, a pair of humans can sometimes bear a half-type child because of a convergence of genes between the two unsuspecting parents.
