Red Sunset War

The red sunset war was the shortest official war in history, one that started at high noon and ended at sunset. The war was ignited over a territorial squabble over the control of the small continent of Ghyr Maeruth by the nations of Decetel and Terellun.   Both nations had discovered the presumed uninhabited continent during their ages of expansion. Decetel desired this luscious island for colonisation, seeing the high amount of resources. Terellun wanted to use the island for farming, expanding their exports into things not made or grown in desert sand. Both sent a sizeable legion of soldiers to secure the island before sending settlers and farmers. The Decetel were they first ones to begin settling. When Terellun scouts found the new founded colony, the Terellun soldiers were sent to put a stop the colonisation and claim the land as theirs. Naturally, the Decetels resisted, and there was a battle at the first settlement at noon of the day. It was officially declared a warby a Decetal Admiral after the Decetels retreated with the colonists to the anchored Battlecruiser. The Decetel Navy fleet moved to engage with the Terrelluns, who had much weaker naval capabilities.   Near sunset however, before the Decetel had reached the Terellun fleet, both parties witnessed the eruption of Mt. Kan, and were barely able to escape the destruction caused, with most if it containing the island. They all saw the destroyed continent after and both nations decided that the volcano ruined any usefulness the island had. Both fleets sailed back to their homes and the War was officially ended.   The even was named the red sunset war for the colour the sun turned when the volcano erupted, due to the gases in the air.
