ATCL14.1 Rumours in the Marketplace

Rumours can be overheard, or can be gathered by talking to other NPCs in a location. Sometimes, the over hearing may require skill checks to be done.   Do you seek to hear rumours in the marketplace? 1d6 / 2 rounded up ie between 1 and 3 rumours can be over heard. Here are some rumors that could be overheard in the bustling Cipello marketplace: Roll 1d20 for which rumours.
 

1. The Baker’s Secret Recipe

  "Old Marta’s bread has been tasting better than ever lately. Some say she’s been using imported spices from across the sea, but I bet she’s just added more butter!"
 

2. The Mayor’s Secret Deal

  "Word is, the mayor of Cipello has been meeting with some shady strangers after dark. Some say he's planning to sell the rights to the water supply, others whisper it’s something darker."
 

3. The Merchant’s Lazy Son

  "Erik, the cloth merchant’s son, hasn’t lifted a finger in weeks! They say he spends all day at the tavern instead of minding the shop. His poor father must be losing customers."
 

The Rogue’s Treasure Map

  "Suzi, that notorious rogue, was seen in the tavern. She’s been asking about an ancient map leading to a treasure buried deep beneath the Whispering Woods. If anyone finds out she has it, there’ll be blood spilled for sure."
 

5. The Tailor’s Unlucky Streak

  "The tailor, poor man, keeps ruining every tunic he sews lately. Some say his eyesight’s failing, but others whisper he’s been cursed by a jealous rival!"
 

6. The Poisoned River

The Market Stall Thief

  "Lately, apples have been disappearing from Marla’s fruit stall. She swears it’s not the usual children, but no one’s seen the culprit. Could it be a mischievous raccoon?"
 

8. Mysterious Newcomer

  "There’s a stranger in town, always cloaked and never speaks to anyone. Some say he's a spy, others think he’s hiding from something far worse."
 

9. The Innkeeper’s Troublesome Nephew

  "They say the innkeeper’s nephew is a bit of a troublemaker, always causing fights after a few drinks. His uncle’s patience is running thin—one more brawl, and he’ll be kicked out for good."
 

10. Ben’s Miracle

  "They say Ben, that dwarven cleric, performed a miracle over in the next town—healed a man on the brink of death with just a touch. Folk are whispering he’s been blessed by the gods themselves."
 

11. The Return of the Black Serpent

  "Did you hear? A merchant swears he saw the symbol of the Black Serpent near the southern border. They say it's a sign of an ancient cult stirring again..."
 

12. The Cobbler’s Broken Marriage

  "Poor Tomas the cobbler hasn’t been the same since his wife left him. Word is she ran off with a traveling bard, leaving him with their three children."
 

13. The Vanishing Caravan

  "A caravan heading toward the Shadowridge Bluffs vanished without a trace. No tracks, no bodies, nothing. Some blame the Shadow Wolf; others think it’s the work of... something worse."
