Krazkow

The Kingdom that sits in the Northeast of Val'Kara. Stable, and storied, Krazkow stands as a major player in Val'Karan politics.

Structure

With the royalty at the top, and noble lords and ladies below them, Krazkow has a monarchal system.

Culture

Krazkow's culture is a beautiful one. Krazkow is known for it's art, music, food, and architecture. Krazkow is not a particularly warlike nation, preferring diplomacy instead. As such Krazkow has not fought many wars for their own gains, but have joined with other Val'Karan kingdoms against outside or larger forces.

Krazkow seeks to uphold peace in Val'Kara above all else.

History

Declaring independence from the Praetoran Empire in 1000 BGC, they were the first to do so. This would spur the rest of Val'Kara to blow up into war across the continent. Krazkow would fight a guerilla war against the imperial forces, catching the Praetorans off guard and putting them on the backfoot. They would gain independence soon afterward as the Empire scrambled to put down the other uprisings. Krazkow would aid the other rebels with weapons and supplies throughout the century of turmoil. But when the Great Collapse occurred, everything the Krazic worked to establish would fall apart. In the century following the Great Collapse Krazkow rebuilt their kingdom, fortifying, and starting international trade again. In 119 AGC war would come back to Krazkow when the Val'Kara Wars began. The Praetoran Empire targeted Krazkow with particular intensity, taking territory all the way up to the capitol where the Krazic forces were forced to retreat behind the walls of Wada City. There they would be sieged until Triumvirate forces aided them in breaking the siege. Establishing a strong relationship between the two nations from there on. This relationship would come into play when during the Great Alliance War Krazkow joined the Dwem'vera Triumvirate in fighting against the Praetoran Empire. In 327 AGC the Krazkow Disaster would occur. The King of Krazkow at the time saw Shyrland as fertile and easy territory to conquer. They were thwarted by the Halflings who fought using guerrilla tactics against the Krazic. The Krazic were left with tales of ferocious short-folk wielding magic weapons, and devising devious traps. Relations between Krazkow and Shyrland would later improve, but this was a blemish upon Krazkow's proud history of peace. The War of Falling Stars came in 349 AGC, and would see the death of the Praetoran Empire. Krazkow would fight side by side with the other independent nations of Val'Kara against their common enemy. Krazkow would be a leading force in the Val'Karan Unity Conference, though it would soon be collapsed with the coming of the Long Freeze. During the Long Freeze and Shadow Wars Krazkow defended their land from the Drow invaders. Battles across the icy blasted valleys of Krazkow raged on and off as Krazkow's people began to starve. But the Krazic are a hardy people, and survived through the crisis. With the Freeze's end Krazkow was allowed to rest again. Arts flourished, technology advanced, and all was peaceful in Krazkow during the Great Leap. And Krazkow has satyed peaceful up into the new millenium, though in most recent history they have watched Val'Kara begin to descend into bloody conflict again.

Territories

Krazkow occupies the northeast potion of Val'Kara. Rolling valleys, snow capped mountains, and long beaches make up Krazkow's territory.

Military

Krazkow's military is mostly ornimental, having not been used for decades. But in recent years training has been encouraged as war returns to Val'Kara. Krazkow's cavalry while not as renown as Vilka's it's no less elite. Krazic infantry is the largest branch of military, massive columns of armored soldiers march in step

Religion

Krazic culture widely accepts the High God Pantheon, though worship of the Low Gods is not illegal, it's looked down upon

Foreign Relations

The diplomacy of Krazkow is far reaching. Within Val'Kara they're referred to as the "Great Reconciler" and have good relations with Anglica, Shyrland, Vilka, Anor-Gotha and the Dwem'vera Triumvirate. Pan-continental relations between Krazkow and other nations are good, leading to many trade agreements.

Agriculture & Industry

Agriculture is the main focus of Krazkow's industry. Krazkow's fields and valleys are plentiful and excellent for farming. Krazkow's fishing industry is also major, with their northern seas being filled with fish such as tuna and other salt water fish.

Trade & Transport

Krazkow trades with most nations other than the Eldari Empire by sea, and with Val'Karan nations by way of the many established roads that cut through the continent.

Education

Most citizens are educated on a basic level, and some lucky low class folk could get a higher education, nobles and the rich were given easier access to higher education and university learning.
