War of Cinders

The War of Cinders, sometimes known as the War of Fire and Sun or the War of Dragon and Phoenix, was an 8-year long conflict between The Realm of Aerlon and The Holy Empire of Arkhosia (Current). It is considered a particularly bloody and devastating war, with Arkhosia's use of dragons and massive bloodshed on either side.
The war came to a sudden end with the sudden resurgence of the Yuan-ti and their attack on their ancient foes of Arkhosia. Arkhosia, unable and unwilling to fight a war on two fronts, and the Realm similarly beaten down and concerned with the continued heavy loss of life, signed the Hearthfire Accords, a cease-fire treaty which halted the conflict, if not outright ended it.
Due to the war, many of the other races of the Realm regard dragonborn (and any other scaled races) with extreme distrust and, in some cases, hatred; a bigotry born of the atrocities committed by their kin. Despite the fact that many Aerlonian dragonborn wished to fight with the Realm against their attackers, a majority of dragonborn were forced to flee to Arkhosia or find sanctuary even before the war ended.
Due to the war, a standing proclamation exists within the Realm for the death of all dragons.
