Aerlon

Aerlon is the largest continent on Aeramis. From west-to-east, the continent is approximately 2,556 miles wide (including the subcontinent Arcanum). From north-to-south, it is 1,222 miles.
Aerlon's environment is largely temperature. To the north, Elcott, the environment becomes more taiga-like, eventually becoming tundra as far north as Haven Hill. Further south the temperature becomes hotter, though never reaching the savanna and desert-like environment of Drul'Mak. The exception to this is the Yezeth Desert, which dominates the south-eastern part of the continent. Within the center of the continent lies the Black Brake, a thick and dark jungle within the heart of the Timberlands.
The Realm of Aerlon controls a majority of the continent, making humans the largest political force there. Second to humans are dwarves, though the fact that they are split into three major settlements makes them less powerful as a race. The elves have been waning since the Second Age, and their only major settlement is Glornlára within the Verdant (though there are other, smaller elvish settlements within the Verdant). The Realm in centuries past established a treaty with the elves not to encroach upon the Verdant.
