Special Ammunitions

Introduction

Tired of your quiver of basic arrows? Want to spice up your crossbow with bolts that can petrify your target? Maybe you want to use the enigmatic junk gun? Either way you put it; this article is for you! Throughout the land of Aekko you may encounter special ammunition types. This article will discuss what is considered a special ammunition, how they are used, and how you can craft them.

Arrows & Bolts

Ammunition for bows and crossbows can be enhanced with the materials and items you find along your journeys. These ammunition types are not recoverable like normal ammunitions. When making an attack with a bow or crossbow you may load a special bolt or nock a special arrow as a part of your attack action.

Crafting:

Anyone that knows how to craft arrows or bolts may create special ammunition from them. Crafting these ammunitions requires that the player has at least four pieces of ammunition and one of the adventuring gear items, potions, or materials found in the table above. Creating special ammunition can be done after spending 10 minutes focusing on it, or while taking a short or long rest. After successfully crafting the ammunition, the player will acquire four pieces of special ammunition.

Sprayers

A special type of ranged weapon that allows players to spread the effects of certain potions and adventuring gear over an area. These weapons include the chem thrower arcsthetic and the spray nozzle adventuring gear. Using the spray nozzle or chem thrower, the effects of adventuring gear items and potions are spread over a 30ft cone or 60ft line rather than their usual range. Each item and potion compatible with sprayers and their effects can be seen in the table below.

Junk Gun

The junk gun is a weapon designed to hurl your unused junk right at your enemy. It’s loaded with materials that you have gathered or found. Each type of material has a variety of different effects as seen on the junk table below. When making an attack with this weapon you must roll on the table below and use the result for your attack.
