USPS Session 9: Snails Rails Report
General Summary
We pick up where we left off at the Kappi Research Institute, where our heroes continue to spread the news of Tralljor’s Soundwave Showdown
Willow wanders around campus to Hall Datamorska, where outside groups of students are feverishly working on forming statues of Jordmässig’s Jarl
Honing in on a group of students in-front of the building, Willow greets a surprised student trying their best to make an accurate steam-punk idol of Jarl Skipavel
Willow offers to help the frazzled boy, who hands her a shopping list of various metals and a specifically-engraved part to shop for, as well as a pouch of 40 Silver
The Satyr parts ways with the lad and heads for Utdanning’s Market District
The rest of the party split ways after meeting in Hall Miskunner, with Harvoni headed to the building’s Geomancy lecture halls.
Confidently walking into the lecture hall, Harvoni listens to the lecture of the guest Professor Ijisé (all the way from Khudaldaa’s Ustgelt Weather Institute) who talks about the relation between the city’s arcane weather and equivalent sigils. She learns the recipe for the Lightning in a Bottle Adventuring Gear recipe
The professor then lets Harvoni know that he’s bound next for Jordmässig in 5 days for another different lecture in his series if she would like to join him to continue their discussion. The two then part ways, with Harvoni bound for Uta’s apartment Diaga heads to the basement of Hall Datamorska to work on a project of her own. Using the crafting benches and forges in the building’s basement, she forges some Bronze for herself as well as a +1 Large Shield. Afterwards, she also heads to meet Uta at her apartment Willow spends a few hours in the market district putting together the materials for the shopping list, finally finding the special-crested Titanium part for the students craftwork. Apparently while attempting to find the right shops for cheap parts, she heard rumblings from the nearby Rasktog station, but chose to ignore them
After some hefty haggling, Willow manages to turn a 3 Silver profit on her shopping list quest, not before stumbling upon a young boy’s standee shop in the slums of the city. She purchases a set of enchanted light clay armor from the boy after paying 15 copper (plus an additional 5 copper to get scared). Upon her returning to campus and trying to return the boy’s spare Silver, she’s rewarded with that Silver plus a bunch of scrap red materials (including glass and even an Obsidian) as well as 5 additional silver Willow then heads to Uta’s apartment, where the whole group can now be seen heading in. They hear heavy construction noises coming from behind the door, as the party loudly knock to get Uta’s attention. Uta complains that the party knocked too loud, but excitedly asks the party if they would like to see her invention The party collectively agree, and as Uta unveils the project, the party lay their eyes on a large Iron Maiden (dubbed an Iron Warden) holding a broom and a mop in its outstretched arms. Uta opens it up to show the party that it can be controlled on the inside to act as safe transport for travelers As the party search for comments on the invention, Diaga outstretches an invitation for Uta and her friends to head to Tralljor’s Soundwave Showdown. Uta mentions that this might also be a good opportunity to advertise her new invention to those at the concert, and the two strike a mutually beneficial agreement thusly
With Uta getting back to work on her project, the party deliberate on where to head next now that their business appeared done in Utdanning for the time being. The party mention heading to Kavios, Heilagur, Jordmässig, Promaticous’s borders, and even Megacaltura (which Diaga finds she cannot pronounce) They finally land on heading to the next closest town, that being the lakebound town of Eyju. After two days of un-noteworthy travel, the party come to a clearing where below them in a valley they see the peaks of the town’s buildings over a pervasive cloud of fog sitting on-top of the city.
