USPS Session 8: Big Men and Women on Campus Report

General Summary

The crew find themselves getting their bearings in Utdanning after a tough encounter at a local watering hole in Meadtown
On a path for vengeance, Harvoni helps Roger track down the Promaticans who had harassed them not an hour ago with the now-upgraded Diaga (who did some dumpster-diving on the way back) in tow
The party arrive at a nice dwelling owned by the Vomethndan government where apparently a large amount of Promaticans have been nesting-up, and they pretend to be homeless in-front of the complex
After earning some of the unit's pity, they are given pillows and blankets (Roger's pillow being a book of Visku hymns, and Harvoni's blanket being a spare tablecloth) to rest up right outside the complex. Diaga takes this as an opportunity and holes up in one of the beds inside of the complex after sneaking through an open door, while Willow goes to look for an inn to crash in
Before getting to sleep, Roger and Harvoni see a large grouping of robed churchfolk heading to mass with strange rocks in-hand, choosing to follow them for some reason
They end up heading to a mass for the invention/innovation god Küvüagaar, where they end up enjoying the mass to its whole length
Roger takes an opportunity right near the end of the mass to snag a couple of rocks from the box of deposited Sending Stones using his Unseen Servant, which goes completely unnoticed, even by Harvoni
Roger bids the churchfolk, including a Dove-Kenku named Caryice, ado with Harvoni close behind
Roger pockets the 2 Sending Stones he was able to steal and the two then head back to the park in front of the Promatican hideout where they sleep like rocks
Unfortunately, Diaga does not have as peaceful of a rest, with her strange dreams haunting her once more including strange bear roars, as well as a voice repeating that they "need to be buried" at "that place" while Diaga was running towards a vibrant purple light off in the distance. Who knows what that could mean?
Once the morning strikes, the crew all meet at their original destination of Uta's house in Warehouse Isle with the impatient Willow crossing her arms and tapping her foot due to having waited all morning for them
The crew are let into Uta's very locked-up house where she quickly thanks them, seemingly wanting to head straight out to Kappi to check on her top-secret research
The crew head out to Kappi via the Jarl's Lift, leading them to the sprawling campus overlooking the city.
During a quick breakfast meal at one of the best mess halls on campus, Uta talks about the yearly Senior tradition of pranking the Jarl (who seems to enjoy these jokes for some odd reason) as well as a supposed meeting between the Jarl and a Promatican official
After finishing their brekky, Uta gives the party an official tour of the whole of campus, showing off the Jarl's Hall, Hall Datamorska (the engineering hall), Hall Miskunner (the magic hall), the Glima stadium, and even an alumni/registration building.  Uta is handed an invite to Tralljor's Soundwave Showdown by Diaga, and leaves them afterwards to fend for themselves as she goes to the teacher's living complex to work on her research
Willow heads off to grab seconds back at the dining hall, Roger and Diaga head to the lively Glima stadium, and Harvoni heads to Hall Miskunner to uncover more secrets of Mystek
As Roger and Diaga reach the stadium, they noticed the men's team practicing their breathing on the field
Diaga shows an interest in the sport, however the coach mentions that the women's coach will be there tomorrow if she wants to join a team
Diaga doesn't take no for an answer, challenging the team to put anyone in front of her to test her worth to
Sending the largest man they have, Diaga squares off with an 8ft-tall Goliath named Rasksa
Diaga and the man struggle against one-another on the field, with Rasksa getting a few good holds at the beginning before his strength fails him and Diaga's swift strikes weaken the man immensely
Rasksa is quickly put on the back-foot as Diaga is able to get him under the rushing water before he is struck twice-more and yields, declaring Diaga to be the winner
The men's coach compliments her and invites Diaga to be on their team, but she declines saying that "the glass cieling has been broken", hands the team a bunch of invites to the Soundwave Showdown and walks away like the girlboss she is
Meanwhile, Harvoni is soaking up all the knowledge she possibly can as she enters a mystek lab being headed by a Dr. Vishara
She learns that fantasma crystals all are proficient in different types of magic (ex. elemental strengths, particular utilities, defensive crystals, or otherwise), a spell's strength and the strength of the medium needing to be similar, and she learns of the versatility of an already-carved crystal
Vishara points Harvoni down to the Geomancy hall, noting that "if (she) wants to learn about channeling runes, that (she) will likely get a lot out of the lesson happening there later today"
Meanwhile, the whole crew are down in the basement laboratory space of Hall Miskunner where Diaga and Roger are there to pass out flyers, until they remember about the bowling ball-sized unknown object in their pockets
Upon examination from the scientists in the basement (including one of the scientists receiving a powerful vision of a harp bow of legend), the crew learn that this is called a "memory stone" and that it can be used to create a powerful mythic weapon upon finding the correct ingredients and recipe
They practically have dollar signs in their eyes as they are told that the weapon they make would be priceless in the right hands, and the party regroup back on the hall's first floor as the session comes to a close
