Misími Bronze

"...This metal is used in everything they do, from construction to jewelry. When holding it I felt my connection to the arcane start to slip. My escort refused to elaborate on that..."
— A Foreign Diplomat

Properties

Material Characteristics

Items made from misími bronze appear similar color to pale gold. The metal can be polished to be given a mirror like effect. Upon oxidizing its color changes to be a dark indigo.

Physical & Chemical Properties

This metal has a anti magic property. The strength of this property depends how much metal there is and if there is any electrical current running through it.

Geology & Geography

Misími bronze can only be mined in the nation of Promaticous. It can be found anywhere in the country, but is most abundant near the northern city of Dásofum.

Origin & Source

The metal is thought to have come from a meteor that crashed near the coast long ago, but this has never been confirmed.

History & Usage

Refinement

Upon extraction from a mine the metal needs to be smelted before it is used in any capacity. This process happens at the forges of Dásofum where the raw misími is turned to ingots and shipped across the country.

Manufacturing & Products

Misími bronze is used in a variety of common use items such as, cookware, clothing fasteners, jewelry, furniture, hardware, and construction. It is also used in military applications, being the primary material that many war machines, weapons, and armor is made of.

Byproducts & Sideproducts

A byproduct of smelting misími bronze is a thick, black colored ash. The thickness is similar to wet clay, and has similar properties. This clay is used to create the blackstone found all throughout Promaticous.

Hazards

The smelting of the metal creates a lot of toxic fumes, from the metal itself to the fuel used to melt it. The intense heat is a hazard as well, with any creature that falls into the crucibles meeting a fiery end.

Environmental Impact

The forges to smelt the metal use diesel furnaces to raise it temperature, which produces a significant amount of smog in the process. This causes the area around Dásofum to be covered in ash during periods of little precipitation or heavy refinement.
