Bohk
A traditional Ezlekhian martial art similar to wrestling, this traditional Ezlekhian fighting style has been lost upon much of the rest of the country, but can primarily be seen in Bambai's Bohkite district.
How to Play:
Game functionality-wise, the first to 5 successful rolls is the winner. The two opponents choose one of the 4 following stats to roll with, the winner of the contest knocks the loser's body part onto the ground: Athletics, Acrobatics, Survival, or Intimidation. After using that ability check once, they gain a minus 1 with that check for the rest of the match (stacks), using the same skill check twice in a row causes disadvantage with that skill check, and using a skill more than twice in a match causes the player to gain a level of exhaustion. A player can also go for a full take-down, which has the chance to immediately end the match, and can be used at any point within the match. The two contestants take their two highest ability scores and make a roll with each. If the added total of the rolls by the player is more than 10 of their opponent's, the match immediately ends with the player being crowned the winner. If the full take-down attempt is failed, that contestant gains a minus 1 to all ability checks for the rest of the match.History
Bohk stands as one of Aekko's oldest formal martial arts, with ties as far back as the early 500's. The fighting style was popularized by locals to the now-Bambai region who were said to be able to lift goliaths, trolls, and giants themselves with its moves, allowing for them to establish early villages.
Execution
The fighting style focuses on using the raw strength of particular parts of the body to outlast their opponent and throw them off balance, which is their "stepping stone to victory". The martial art isolates the legs, core, and biceps using traditional colored rope-like Bohk wrappings around each part of the body, which trades the user's lesser mobility for greater bursts of raw strength.
When a Bohk bout begins, the two opponents whom, have their arms interlocked, begin exerting one of their three isolated body regions to atempt to drive their opponent onto their knees or chest. When one competitor falls onto one of these body parts, their opponent earns a point, with the first to 10 points crowning the winner, this makes the sport often one of endurance as well. The contestants also can immediately end the match upon performing a "full take-down" on their opponent during any part of the game, leading to exciting comeback victories.
This fighting style is also utilized by strongarm outlaws in various plainar regions of Ezlekh, being bastardized by using rune-covered wrappings, potions such as the Giant's Protein and Growth Tea, or even Arcsthetics to further bolster one's athleticism to almost unreal levels.
Components and tools
Those who practice the fighting style wear almost minimal clothing (limited pretty much to undergarments), instead opting to wear traditional Bohk wrappings; these are thick-threaded wrappings which are meant to twist aroud the competitors muscles in order to isolate and strengthen their muscles. The wrappings are typically made of fiborous plants which are colored and styled to fit the school they represent, and in less-traditional practices can be modified to give their users inhuman amounts of strength.
Despite the strict clothing laws enforced by the Bambaian Regime, these Bohk wrappings are considered ceremonial clothing, and therefore are free from the scrutiny of the law.
Observance
The martial art is practiced by multiple schools in a sector of Gol-Duulga called the Bohkite District, all of which focus on different aspects of the art. This diversity in styles is due to the lack of weight classes in the martial art, as well as its age as a fighting style. Some of the fixations of these schools range from extremely strict diets, to intricate wrapping styles, to "under-handed" styles which focus on taking advantage of an off-guard opponent and abusing the "full take-down" rules. The city sees muddy variants of competitions after particularly rainy days, as well as competitions all along the Bohkite District and even some competitions around Tam Junction during most major holidays.
