Outpost of Wandering

"The boar came from nowhere, hurtling at me as I rounded a bend. I defeated the creature, but the process left me bruised, bloody, and with a massive, barbed tusk sticking out of my side. I thought I was done for. It had been weeks since leaving the last town, days without the company of another intelligent creature. I was alone. I was going to die.
You can imagine my surprise when I awoke in a soft bed, the smell of baking bread filling the air. My caretaker, as it happened, was an ancient looking gnomish man wearing a white tabard emblazoned with a silver anvil. He nursed me to health over the next several days, speeding the process with powerful magic.
When I had recovered enough to walk, I asked him why he had helped me so. In response, he chuckled kindly and handed me a silver necklace decorated with a single, small anvil charm. 'She will protect you, friend,' he said. Then, just like that, he folded the hut in which he had nursed me back to health until it took on the shape of a small, wooden hand wagon. Smiling warmly, he wandered off into the wilderness to find another hapless soul to save.

I have worn the necklace ever since.
