Dalazar
Once the home of the great Mother Tree, the landscape of Dalazar was sapped of its life and moisture, leaving the land scorched and deserted. With a storied past with the former Kingdom of Odelshyre, Dalazar's denizens are as resilient as they are tough.
Climate
The deserts of Dalazar are some of the driest in Aedelor, with sandstorms and scorching winds being common weather patterns in the region. The desert has two major wet seasons that reinvigorate the ecosystem, with one occurring at the end of summer and winter respectively. The Dragondeep Sea produces strong winds that cycle these monsoons inland and across the region, with storms ending within the Verdant Valley.
Natural Resources
Dalazar is a major exporter of salts, gypsums, and other rare minerals. Ancient and dried wood from the husk of the Mother Tree is another commodity which is used in several religious practices across Aedelor, as well as for druidic magic and armor.
History
In 150 DC, The Demon Rook led the former Odel Dynasty into Dalazar and waged a historic war against the lohiken. She kept control in the region with an iron fist. Her aggressive tactics and nearly ceaseless onslaught has left its mark on the cultural memory of Dalazar today, who often negatively refer to Gilramites as rooks.
