The Mother Tree
Eons ago when Aedelor was young, Artellan, God of Flora pulled one of his only branches from his trunk and hurled it towards Aedelor so that a forest may grow for the newly arriving elves, helping Aedelor more resemble their original home of Aedurun. That branch would become the Mother Tree in Dalazar , which in turn would eventually seed all of the forests of modern Aedelor.
History
Despite her grace and creation, the life of the Mother Tree was cut short. As she was felled thousands of years ago, she wept, and her tears would make the Jivana Sea in the north of Vardanta (The Verdant Valley).
As the rest of the Dalazar peninsula turned to desert, Vardanta remained lush owing to the Jivana Sea. The spirit of the Mother Tree remains in the waters there, carried through the valley by river, and seeding all the flora that continues to grow there.
The dried roots of the Mother Tree remain in a hollow in Dalazar on the Ealian continent, the remnants of her destruction in an age long ago. Since her death, her body dried and deteriorated and the region became a desert expanse. A temple to her was built in the hollow, which has now given rise to a bustling oasis city in the heart of the desert known as Etsinawi .
