Itasis the Pure Sight (/it-tas-is/)

An Elysian and one of the original twelve creators

Profile and Followers

Itasis the Pure Sight is the divine god of intelligence, skill, technology, and prophesy. He is often characterized as a hard-studied, straight to the point individual. He'd rather calculate and articulate his thoughts carefully before speaking, his words being so wise that not even the most skilled of poets could create such prose in all their lifetimes.   Itasis is often depicted as a dark skinned man of lithe figure and long draping ornate robes. Most notably, Itasis is always seen with a third eye placed on his forehead.   Followers of the Pure Sight are well-read sages, historians, researchers, or philosophers. Almost curious to a fault, Itasis' followers will attempt to find every secret, record every event, and transcribe every rune. Because of this, temples to the Pure Sight often double as libraries, universities, or places for recordkeeping. Additionally, a couple of temples may also serve as places of prophetic importance, where some say Itasis will bless a follower in deep meditation with visions of the future. Due to the amount of traffic, upkeep, and gathering of information, temples to this god will almost never be found outside the protection of a city.

Popular Myths

Although every Deity played a vital role during The Divinity Strife, many historians credit the reason of Elysian victory to the Pure Sight. As the god of prophesy and strategy, his insight into future events proved invaluable to the defeat of the Chthonic. His contributions extended even further, as he is also credited as the one who designed the perfect prisons for the Chthonic, crafting clever workarounds to their immense power.

History With Other Deities

Strangely, Itasis' closest friendship within the pantheon of Elysians is with Masarran the Blacksource. Both are characterized as methodical Deities, preferring the method of watching and learning than to run headfirst at the problem. Masarran, being the master of shadows and mysteries, often helps Itasis with finding hidden lore, and is the only Elysian the Pure Sight trusts to exchange theories of the universe.   Ever since his ascension to godhood, Vystos the Undying One has been the biggest enemy to the Pure Sight. As the god of secrets, the Undying One's domain has been at odds with Itasis' eternal quest to uncover every mystery and solve every riddle. As it is rumored that Vystos was a powerful mage in his time, many speculate that he could've been a student of Itasis. Many detractors of the Deity even insist that Itasis gifted his pupil the secret to Lichdom, which inevitably set Vystos on the path he walks now today.   Similarly to how Itasis' domains clash with those of Vystos, another Chthonic who shares his hatred is Ruvaa the Lie Weaver. The Pure Sight often finds the hardest truths to uncover as made specifically by Ruvaa, in an attempt to create discourse and chaos. In the eyes of Itasis, a successful world is one of truth and civility, and the Lie Weaver often stands in the way of a successful world.
Commandments of the Pure Sight
  • Unmask those who would destroy the Pure Sight. Learn their secrets and unveil them to the world.

  • Uphold and teach the importance of reason, perception, and truth in guiding one’s emotions and path.

  • Condemn those who lie without moral cause, for evil folk gain power when their followers obscure the truth. Never stoop to the level of selfish liars.
