Nydonia Class Heavy Cruiser

Propulsion

A gas turbine engine making 56,764 horsepower powers double props at a suprisngly good fuel efficiency for the vessel's speed. Electro-hydro steering aids in guiding the vessel through its semi-balanced rudder, internally held back so that they vessel does not capsize itself due to its less that average roll balance.

Weapons & Armament

Front facing weaponry for these ship's include 2 triple barreled 10" cannons serve as the ship's main armament along with 2 double barreled 7" cannons set to either side of the in-line main batteries. To either side of the citadel are set 2 quad barrel 5" guns and 8 quad barrel 3" inch guns higher up, designed mainly for dealing with smaller flanking vessels. All of the crafts guns fire ballistic capped armor pricing HE shells, all launched by triple base propellant fed by auto loaders. The layout of the main batteries is designed such that all 4 of them may fire from a forward facing position. This was by design, as the ship was created to be able to fire from a docked position in its harbor, as well as patrolling the Nydonian coastline. In addition, an underwater front facing 18" torpedo laucher is fixed near the very front of the ship, though they very saw much action due both to supply chain issues and the Nydonian designed torpedoes being less than infallible in reliability.

Armor and defense

A triple bottom hull as well as anti-torpedo edges, anti flooding and reinforced bulkheads serve to greatly increase survivability in combat.

Sensors

Built in radar helps these ships detect incoming threats of various types.
