1st Nydonian Militia Regiment

The regimental symbol of the 1st is simply the colonial flag of the Republic of Nydonia, which started when there was too little orginization in the military to form unique regimental symbols and persists to this day, remaining the same even after Nydonia officially adopted her new flag in 1902.

Assets

In times of peace, the 1st is made up of only a skeleton crew of a few dozen men, with hundreds of men being pulled from the civilian population should the situation by desperate enough to arise, as was the case upon the Nydonia's Declaration of Independence.

History

This regiment was the very first military unit officially formed by the Republic of Nydonia, originally consisting of mostly local colonial farmers, native Tandarans, and a few Pertorian Commonwealth military deters to lead and train them. While other militia regiments were formed, the 1st is he only one to persist into the modern age, purely out of a reverence of tradition and respect to those who died for the nation's independence. While the 1st is kept mainly as a reserve regiment, they have began drafting men and seen action in both the Twelve Years War and the Second Water War.
