The Irongate Mailworks

This nae just be a post office laddie, this be THE post office. We are where the magick happens, and nae magick like them fool magisters. This magick be sweat, blood and elbow grease.

The Irongate Mailworks are the central hub, well one of them, for the nation of Suranth when it comes to the mail services that are growing and slowly centralizing all across the nation. They are the central hub for the Tir-Gach Highlands region for the nation, which of course houses the capital of Geata-Iarainn, which makes them the busiest post office in all of Suranth. The building itself is three stories, almost seventy by a hundred feet, and is divided into sections. Entering the place from the customer doors is hectic enough, as dozens of people are coming in and out to post things on any given day, however in the working rooms or warehouse or sorting floor? Its a madhouse, with dozens of employees running about at top speed at all hours. The place is always running, besides the customer entrances, which close for a seven hour stretch from 14 o'clock Da to 7 o'clock Da. However the sorting floor is running full capacity even at this time, as are a reduced number of couriers for the city, and the rail-rats as well, loading mail bags to be sent from this hub by rail to other large cities and towns in the region. Three shifts of 9.5 hours, which overlap each other slightly, are what make the place tick, allowing maximum efficency. The conditions are not abhorrant, but they are wild and fast, and if you can't keep up, you will swiftly find yourself out of a job. From the outside the building itself looks like any other office building or warehousing building in the railyard, except for the big sign above the customer facing doors shaped like an envelope, the red wax seal proudly displaying the postal service's insignia, the Guild seal for Mail-workers, along with the stylized letters SPS, the name Suranthi Postal Services written below it. In smaller letters below the envelope sign, the name of the building is stylized.
