Silencing Shadow
Magisters of the Onyx Order are notorious tricksters this is true, but they are also the Order that is most capable of internal policing of the Magisterium itself, and spell-forms like this one are a big part of why.
Effect
Basic Effects: Weaving the Onyx currents ever so subtly, you manipulate them, pulling them ever tighter around an individual until a band of pure onyx energy manifest around their head, effectively gagging them. They immediately roll a Sagacity Defensive Test. If they fail, they take 1d6 Psychic damage, and are Silenced for the duration, though they may attempt the save again at the end of each of their turns to overcome the Silence. If they succeed they take 1/2 damage and are not Silenced at all.
Side/Secondary Effects
Tier II Effects: Increase the damage by 1d6, and the duration by 10 minutes
Tier III Effects: You may target an additional creature in range.
Tier III Effects: You may target an additional creature in range.
Manifestation
Cecilia let a small smile of satisfaction cross her sweating face as the feral Canite shaman suddenly stopped howling and chanting, a coursing band of onyx energy gagging the creature, interrupting whatever foul and fell corrupt magicks the beastman was attempting to weave. "What's the matter? Shadow got your tongue?"
