High King Cormac Ironcliffe Character in Adventures in Valerick TTRPG | World Anvil

High King Cormac Ironcliffe

The death of High King Cormac is not merely the death of a leader or the head of our government. It is the passing of a last great hero of the age, and the tolling of the bell for society as we know it. Industrialization will bring a time of advancement, growth and prosperity, certainly. But also a time of strife and darkness, a time where there may be a lack of those with the moral fibre and unique ability to inspire heroics amongst those whom would normally not be capable of it. His passing is no mere passing of an ancient head of government. Nor should he be remembered but so mundanely. He is one of the greatest Suranthi Heroes to ever live, perhaps the greatest since Sir Kartheart himself. The Cleaver of Blackdale Ridge, the Goblin Reaver, Deathsinger. Titles he earned, names he had carved into legend by his deeds, and names of fearful respect passed unto him by his enemies! High King Cormac was a leader among leaders, capable and brilliant, the best of his ilk, able to get the most out of those around him. Able to lead with word and by action and deed. Able to inspire regular men and women to greatness. Humble, yet confident. Iron, yet with a heart of pure intent and kindess. A savage warrior, yet a savvy leader, with great capability to lead in both peace and war. He deserves the highest honors with his passing. For he blazed the trail, he guided our nation to its reclaimation and recovery. He was bold, cunning and wise, and sought to impart that upon all whom met him and upon those he led. He gave his spirit, his very essence to his people, and we, the Suranthi, would not be where we are now without him. So we owe it to him, but more importantly, to ourselves, to honor his memory properly, but also to seek to continue his legacy, and continue growing, rising to expand and reclaim all our lost lands. To stand against the beasts and dark things that seek, evermore, to destroy and reap of our blood, to tear down the nation and the civilized world. We owe it to him to continue making Suranth a true bastion of the world. Anything less would be an insult to his honored memory.

Hi there! You may not know me, but I am the sponsor of the Great Leader of Their People Summer Camp Prompt this year! Since you wrote this article, I would like to know, would you mind me reading it aloud on my Twitch channel this week? I have a lot to get through so it helps to do it live while people watch. I've scheduled to go live at 8am and 8pm Eastern Time every weekday. If you join and comment, I can go over your article right then and there! If you'd like to coordinate a specific date, let me know. If you aren't able to make it (or don't want to be present live), you can also always watch streams after the fact on my YouTube channel   BUT, if the answer is NO because you'd rather I not, it's okay! Not agreeing to be streamed definitely does not put you at any disadvantage for winning in my eyes. Please respond swiftly by replying here (make sure to click REPLY under my comment or I won't be notified), message me on my World Anvil profile page, Discord, or anywhere else you find me online.   Thanks again! Whatever you choose, God bless and much success! <3

PLEASE BE ADVISED THE STREAM IS ALMOST SEVEN HOURS XD but I tried to link the articles in the comments in the order they appeared for your skippy-through convenience. :D If not, no worries at all. Thanks again for allowing me the honor! Have a blessed one. <3

I watched and appreciate, and your comment about rushing through summercamp is dead on. I'm a pieceworker by trade in the construction industry so a lot of my work this summer after going through a six week strike, was on a limited timeframe. I was aiming for diamond, so a great deal was 'get a concept down, hit the word count, submit and move on'   The things you mention are things I will be adding to the article in due course. I don't want to yet as I just started running a DnD game in my setting that takes place at the time of the High King's death, so I don't wish to have my players accidently stumble upon spoilers if they are fiddling about, or if I accidentally forget to limit access for them, etc. So I'll be adding to this article, along with many others as they come upon information in the campaign :)
