Firestorm

In many ways, this spell-form is the apex, the crowning jewel, the purest embodiment of the Ruby Order. A spell-form of intense control, immense almost unfathomable energy, and the razor's edge. Complete control, but control that is simply about timing. About knowing exactly when to completely and utterly let go.

Effect

Basic Effects: Doitean is a volatile flow of manna, and you know exactly how to bring it to life in one of the most violent reactions possible, weaving and shaping the flows in the Aether to create a self feeding manna storm that you then push and force to cross over from the Aether, bursting to life in the material realm. All creatures in the effected area need to roll a Power Defensive Test when this spell is initially woven. A failure results in the ensuing blast, as the firestorm ignites, throwing them Prone as they take 12d6 fire damage, and are afflicted with the Blind (1), Deafened (1) and Ablaze Conditions. A creature that succeeds its test only takes half damage and is not thrown Prone, nor are they Blinded or Deafened. All creatures in the effected area upon initial cast gain the Ablaze Condition, regardless of passing or failing the Defensive Test.

Firestorm: If a creature within the initial manifestation zone was already suffering from the Ablaze Conditon, that creature simply does not get to even attempt a Defensive Test.

After the initial casting, the area becomes difficult terrain, as a violent firestorm rages. Creatures that end their turn in the area affected must make a Toughness Defensive Test. On a failed safe, the flames and smoke play havoc upon their body, and they take 4d6 fire damage and 4d6 poison damage. On a successful save, they take half this. The firestorm can and will grow 10 feet in any direction each round, at the end of your turn. You can, within the action used to Maintain the spell-form, direct this growth if you so choose. Otherwise it is random. The spell form fades 1 round after you give up maintaining it, or max out the duration, however the difficult terrain remains, even as the damage fades because the firestorm itself has ended.

Side/Secondary Effects

Tier II Effects: The initial casting now does 14d6 Fire damage and inflict Blind (2) and Deafened (2) Conditions

Tier III Effects: The initial casting now does 16d6 fire damage and inflicts Blind (3) and Deafened (3) conditions.

Manifestation

The blast was all deafening, the heat oppressive and violent, even from distance. The screams were horrific, though brief, and Antony could only shudder and imagine the sort of devastation the maelstorm of fire and smoke had unleashed and was continuing to unleash upon the Joten. All this power, from one woman, a scarlet haired beauty with enough attitude and skill to put even the most cocky and confident of well trained soldiers to shame. "It was scenes like this," Antony thought to himself, "that explain why magick is so tightly regulated and the Magisterium exists. People capable of such things should not be handling such power without extensive and intensive education."
