Stabilization Circles
Among the various types of magick one can weave, perhaps other than summoning or the sorts meant to move twixt the planes of existence, the most dangerous are without question those of true teleportation. This is because of the inherent truth of what actually happens with such a spell. Those spells that are true teleportations, where you seem to defy the laws of distance and time are in fact dimensional spells in their own right. You are not defying time and distance. You are simply, in a sort of non-eculidean way, basically circumventing straight lines and linear time by piercing the Aether and using the planar sea, where time does not truly exist, to step a great distance whilst more or less ignoring the passage of time. So with this come a multitude of dangers, not the least of which of course, is you are for a very temporary, but not insignificant, moment exposing yourself, your mortal coil and your raw essence, to be targetted by the Void and entities of the Void. It is the main reason such magicks are so difficult, the theoretical concept is easy to learn. It is the necessary mental and metaphysical preparedness that is not. The other reason is the complex calculations you must do, rapidly, to guide the energies you manipulate to achieve this, so that you appear correctly at your target destination. Both your physical body in the proper configuration, and to insure you arrive in a clear 'arrival' spot and even that is not always guaranteed. These reasons and more are why such magicks see very rare use outside the small short range ones where you can at least visually confirm right before casting, your landing area. The larger and longer distance versions are extremely unstable and dangerous. However that is why Stabilization Circles exist.
The Magisterium Cooridinate Dossier, a tome that can be found in every Magisterium Campus, explaining the purpose of these unique magick constructs.
These specialized circular rooms, with one way mirrored glass and specialized mithrium studs in the floor for manna stabilization, are never entered mundanely, only exited thusly. They have glass windows, one way panes so anything entering can be observed and are one big entrapment circle so that if something appears not of this plane of existence, it is bound and cannot leave the room. However they are an attuned manna nexus, and every Magister in the world whom learns the like of teleportation can learn about these, learning their geometric and geographic coordinates. They are almost magnetic, stable, and perfectly responsive to the likes of teleportation magick. They have complex enchantments within the space so there is never any risk of arrivals overlapping in the space and accidentally rending each others bodies apart or getting mashed together, nor of arrivals missing the landing and ending up dashed against the floor, in the ceiling or spliced against a wall, or far worse. Its the safest way to teleport by far and most would never dream of doing such magicks any other way.
