Scope

The motivation behind building Adremesis

This world is our life's work, mine and William's, and seeing it here in a comprehensive manner will help us to understand it and build on it - but it will also allow our friends to be introduced into it easier.   Also, because it's bloody awesome.

The goal of the project

This entire thing will hopefully become a game title in the relatively-far future (I am an aspiring games developer) and this will help keep everything together.

Adremesis's Unique Selling point

This has been a passion of ours since we were very young. Making it real means more to us than other people realise. The characters are more than characters. They're like our own children, and we want to nurture and grow them to be as great as they can possibly be.

Theme

Genre

Medieval High Fantasy. Lot's of magic, (7) dragons, mysterious ancient race, an omnipotent creator of all, dark lord, an even bigger and more evil dark lord.   And, of course, Dave.

Reader Experience

We want our world to feel enchanting and wonderful, yet still brooding and tough - even for the strongest of hearts. Our characters aren't living in a world of kittens and rainbows, it isn't exactly Hell, but it can be.

Reader Tone

Following the examples, somewhere in the middle.   Generally, life is pretty peaceful. The Ancient Kingdoms fell into ruin centuries before the events of the main story but even when they were around, great wars or raging conflicts were non-existent.   Not to say that bad things don't happen, they do, but on a grand scale, there are very few events in the history of Adremesis that effected it in big way.

Recurring Themes

Townsfolk and the general world populace are generally peaceful. There will, obviously, be ne'er-do-wells in anywhere you look, justice would usually come to them. Even the great evil-doers are relatively subtle in their actions until they don't want to be. There are dungeons and deep, twisted people and all that good stuff, but little in relation to the whole story and thus unimportant.

Character Agency

The heroes (Xavier, Alric, Hawk, and Droconos) all have very powerful Souls (relatively) for various different reasons. There are few other than them who can do what they do, but they are by no means God-like or anime protagonist levels. There are many who are far more powerful than them, and they must overcome those challenges as a team.

Focus

I mean, most of it is done already. I'm mostly using this site to put it all somewhere.   The human settlements, before and after the Ancient Era.   Emwood, Talbury, Flowem Dock, Fort Ifrad, Marrarock, Stremly, Slumberwood, Redwood Port, Snowside Quay, Isutopi, Dustwail Cove, Cavadrak, Calidias Port, and Chimeria.   These are all the modern settlements. They are already developed enough in terms of the sort of people that live there, the "uses" and/or origins of the locations and their function in the story.     Barrodor, Asceroth, Excellion, and Nobolia were all the Kingdoms of the Ancient Era, and (at the time) were the only significant human settlements.   Although it may not be absolutely necessary, developing them further (bloodlines, more in-depth cultures, etc) would be very nice to do.
The Raxarians; everything about them.   I love my Raxarians immeasurably and will always work to building them more and more. Their language, social structure, culture, way-of-life, purpose (in terms of story), and everything else under the sun that could possibly be said about them, has been or will be said.
Story.   It needs to work. People need to get from A to B in an understandable and (relatively) realistic manner, OR, at least have a good explanation. Characters need rivalries, adversaries, dangers, and all that lovely stuff we put in stories to make our heroes suffer for the sake of a plot device :D .   Above all though... ...it needs to be interesting and enjoyable.
Character development.   Does it make sense? Is this character too overpowered? Have I made a mary-sue/gary-stu? What are their morals? What is their motivation? Why do they care? Relations to other characters? etc etc...   You know the drill.

Drama

Well, I guess all that's to speak of would be the return of the Lord of Chaos, whom has been sealed in the Void for millennia and is now ready to be break free.   The heroes need to stop it, essentially.
