Zacharias Silversheen
The Vigilant Cardinal
Zacharias Silversheen, the headmaster of Spellhold, is a reclusive and enigmatic figure, blending scholarly pursuit with the dark art of necromancy. His office is cluttered with ancient tomes, scrolls, and jars of curious reagents, each essential for his meticulous and often unsettling experiments. Though his work teeters on the edge of what society deems acceptable, the pendant of Bicarus hanging from his neck hints at a deeper reverence for knowledge, suggesting that his necromantic studies serve a higher purpose—perhaps to uncover truths that others fear to face. Zacharias is as much a philosopher as a practitioner of forbidden magic, and those who dare visit his domain find themselves navigating a space where intellect and mortality intersect in haunting harmony.
Zacharias is the head of the Cleric/Paladin Guard and does not believe that anyone should have free will to practice magic without permission from the gods, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to most people considering that some of the gods support slavery. At least he's not a hypocrite and he got the all-clear from his god, Remor. Mordoval declared that the true owners of Spellhold were arcane casters and it was a disgrace diviners took control of it. Especially when Silversheen tried to wipe out the Nine out of Spellhold’s history, library, and other textbooks.
