Ordes
The capitol city of Chron; Ordes is one of the most technologically advanced cities, as well as one of the most densely populated ones, on the entire continent of Adir. The city has a long and storied tradition of quests for knowledge and an immense love of science. Home to the best schools; technical, magickal or otherwise, people from all over clamor to gain entry into the city's many esteemed institutions. However, Ordes is a tad biased to sciences learning towards the physical and technological.
Demographics
Standard racial demographics include Terreifs (with most of them being of a non-magickal demeanor) as the majority, Medio (hybrids) as the second most populous (with said Medio being of Terreif, Albions, Luche Sidthe, and/or Aoidean descent), Luche Sidthes (mouse fae person) as the third most populous, and then finally Caith Sidthe (cat fae person), Ifreet (dragon-like humanoid), and Aoideans as the minorities.
In terms of ethnicities, Chronan of course is the most common, however due to the Sabrynagian Civil War that has been raging for the past decade or so, there has been a large influx of those of Sabrynagian descent. It also should be noted that there's been an increasing amount of Virvish immigrants as well.
Finally in terms of wealth, the demographics are equally divided between the wealthy and the poor. Though the poor are starting to outnumber the wealthy.

Government
Chron overall has an absolute monarchy with a parliament of various nobles who advise the King, but Ordes not only has the King but a mayor who runs the general operations of the city. The mayor wields a lot of influence over the city but even they still have to answer to the King. They are also usually a person of aristocratic ancestry but recently more and more "Upstarts" in the past couple of decades, aka the Chronan equivalent of a "Noveau Riche," have been gaining the role by currying favor with the steadily unstable King who is the one who appoints each political role personally.
Industry & Trade
Steam-powered/electrical tech such as radios, film cameras, telephones, autorriges, airships, guns, etc. are some of its major exports and every 3 in 4 Ordean works in a factory making some kind of manufactured good. Other exports include machine-made clothes as well as furniture. However, there is a small arts and crafts movement that is still trying to make handmade goods. Ordes also imports different types of rare fruit, meats, and vegetables from the Chronan countryside (specifically Gestault Valley), as well as coal, iron and other materials from the few, still operating mines in Sabrynag.
If an Ordean isn't working in a factory, more often than not, they decided to try their luck at being a Guilder, or a Guild Member. They join a guild and will essentially act as mercenaries, escorts, explorers, deputies, etc. depending on what exactly the job that their guild takes is.

Infrastructure
Cobblestone roads wide enough for autorriges and jackmule(the Adiran equivalent of a horse)-drawn carriges, long stone and metal bridges, steam-powered draw bridges, extensive underground sewers system, expansive water system, airship terminals, steam-powered train stations, telephone polls, and steam-powered generators which generates electricity for the city.
Guilds and Factions
The Mathair Guild is one of the most powerful organizations in not only the city but the entire country of Chron itself. The Guild is the one who manages the thousands upon thousands of guilds in Chron and is also the one who makes sure that a guild gets paid when it completes a quest.
History
The captiol city of Ordes was founded a little over 300 years ago in 2259 DEX as the chosen spot for the new capitol of Chron after the previous one, Espadar was destroyed in the last battle of the Alician Wars between Chron and the other 3 countries. Ordes was built to be the symbol of Chronan modernity and strength after the wars, and due to the influence of the contemporary King, who felt that Chron was falling behind academically compared to the rest of Adir, a stringent emphasis on education was established and the rest one can say is "history."
Architecture
Architecture that someone from our universe would call Victorian/Edwardian with some gothic undertones can be found everywhere in the city. Most of it is undoubtedly made out of a light grey stone. Or at least most of the stonework (especially in the lower, poorer quarters), used to be light grey, but since the advent of industrialization, most of it is dark and black from the soot.
Geography
Built on a plain, Ordes is located right near the coast of the Umbran Sea.
