Gaja Shields

Gaja shields are massive shields with a wide top half that narrows slightly at the base. The edge of the shield at the top is thick and blunt while the curved edge at the base is razor sharp. There are multiple handles to grip the shield with. Gaja Shields are one of the primary weapons used in Nagamalla that is practiced by elephant-lahks. Because elephant-lahks are such large targets, the various handles offer a lot of creativity and flexibility in offense and defense. Practitioners can go back and forth between defending themselves and attacking with the bladed edge. The multiple handles in the middle, center, and base allow for a variety of techniques to keep opponents off balance. Some gaja shields have metal 'tusks' coming out of them as well which make the shields even more effective when used for battering ram maneuvers.
