Deuteragonist in the Glass Worlds books Rebellion and Beyond Odyssey. Leader of the chimera uprising in Arcanaan, and Ahriman's mortal host.
Physical Description
Body Features
Being a felimera, Mika possesses cat-like Felidae ears and a thin dextrous tail. The fur of his ears and tail are blond, like his hair, and have no distinguishing patterns.
Identifying Characteristics
Mika's blond hair largely contributes to the "Golden" of his "Golden Lion" moniker, but it's his leadership in the rebellion of the later chapters that earns him the "Lion" part of the title rather than any physical descriptors.
Physical quirks
His eyes take on a myriad of colors under certain light, and when he expresses different emotions. When calm, they are a relaxed violet, and when excited, they turn as golden as his hair.
Special abilities
In the second act of Rebellion, Mika is saved by the infamous fallen astral Ahriman. Unlike his angelic kin, Ahriman's appearance is that of a dragon, but he cannot exist within the mortal plane for long periods of time without a host. In exchange for Ahriman's terrible power, Mika serves as the astral's host. This arrangement gives Mika the ability to shapeshift into Ahriman's dragon form. Ahriman himself can communicate telepathically to anyone nearby, and when in dragon form, the voices of both Mika and Ahriman can be heard in tandem when the dragon is using telepathy to speak.
Apparel & Accessories
Mika hides scars from his gladiator years under white bandage wraps that cover his forearms, lower legs, and lower torso (if he's not wearing any upper body garments). He almost always wears a satin scarf given to him by Gaelan Petra after they first met.

Personal history
As a chimera in the Arcanaan Empire, Mika was destined to be a slave since birth, and for 30 years, he toiled under the yoke of his Arcanaanite masters and was traded and bought several times over before eventually ending up as a gladiator. He fought for his life in Arcana’s coliseum, all for the entertainment of the masses. Mika was forced to maim, kill, and claw to survive. He chased death when ordered to, and ran from it when allowed. It wasn’t long before he cracked and gave up all hope of ever escaping the pit of hell he had been sold into. It was then that Mika met the young human noble that would free him from despair.
Mika met Gaelan Petra in the corridors of the coliseum's hypogeum. A nightmare had broken out of its cage and attacked Gael, who had been exploring the hypogeum to escape the nauseating ruckus above and get away from his father. Mika saved Gaelan from being mauled by the creature and then the two worked together to hunt it down before it could escape the arena’s underground labyrinth. Gaelan easily recognized the champion of the chimera gladiators, and, seeing as the boy saved his life, Gaelan felt indebted to him. He offered the coliseum's taskmaster a lump sum of two hundred electrum coins to purchase Mika, believing that providing the chimera a better and more comfortable life would be fitting recompense. The man happily agreed to part with the slave for such a magnanimous price.
Since their fateful encounter, Mika has been at Gaelan’s side. Though technically a slave, as Arcanaan imperial law forbids chimeras from being free, Mika considers Gael to be his one true friend, but Gael may actually desire something more taboo...
Mental Trauma
Suffers from frequent flashbacks of past traumas and episodes of abusive treatment.
Independent to the point of untrusting. Gaelen is the only person he allows to help him, but even then, Mika's reluctant to accept.
Mika was only a gladiator for a year before Gaelan rescued him, but in that time, he had learned how to fight with almost any weapon (or thing) he could get his hands on. While his sword skills are lacking, the chimera is a natural with a short bow, a talent strengthened by Gaelan teaching him the advanced archery techniques of his family.
Mika's time spent in the arena, fighting for survival and killing others so that he could live, has developed a traumatic fear of close encounters; so, ranged weapons are now Mika’s favorite options. Throwing knives, bows, lances, and polearms are preferred above all else; but he nonetheless carries a sword at his side and spars with Gael every day.

He speaks with lowborn sociolect. His speech is mainly uncouth, but due to his lack of any formal education and restricted lifestyle as a slave, rather than age or immaturity.
