Rastenel Kasuran

Rastenel Kasuran was a dogfolk wizard who moved to Keiman City to study thaumite in a controlled environment. He eventually discovered the ability to control thaumite and use it to form spells. At the end of his life, he understood how to create Runes and shared the knowledge with his colleagues.

Appearance

Rastenel had long, white fur all over his body, commonly covering his eyes in his old age, but it was kept cropped in his youth. He had large and attentive ears that stuck out of his hair atop his head, and a curled tail that pinned itself to his back most of the time. Rastenel had large, brown eyes and always seemed to smile, even when experiencing strife.

He wore loose-fitting tunics and pants earlier in life, and eventually started wearing robes as he became an elder. Rastenel preferred wearing desaturated tones next to the very vibrant crystals he was working with. It was common to see him walking around without shoes, especially around his lab, and rarely would put on slippers or sandals when outside.

Relatives

Rastenel was the son of Giguran Kasuran, a famous performer who used lots of magic tricks in his performances. He was known for his fantastical illusions and taught Rastenel nothing of what his tricks were. Rastenel was very curious, and learned to train his eyes to see the most minute details just so he could figure out the tricks for himself.

His elder brother, Deidira Kasuran, left the family as soon as he hit adulthood to pursue becoming a proper businessman in Keiman City. This eventually led Rastenel to move out, too, knowing that true magic was his calling.

Rastenel was a follower of Lybrynn even from a young age, and he worshipped the god in secret as he moved to Keiman City.
