The Second Expedition: Claiming the Burrows

Having rebuilt and re-organized society, Central was ready to sent forth the Second Expedition with the goal of claiming the walled area to the South.

On the 22nd Day of the 6th Moon 8 B.F, the Second Expedition departed from the Academy with the purpose of clearing the Southeast quadrant from the beasts and claiming the Southern walled area to build a new city.   In the years since the Beast Tide, citizens of Abyss rebuilt their lives and set out to nurture new talent for the future. Life flourished as the beasts were cleared out and settlements rebuilt. Veterans that survived both the First Expedition and the subsequent Beast Tide set up the Guild - dedicated to the recruitment and training of adventurers for the purposes of exploration and excavation. Their primary intent was to prepare experts for a second Expedition, as well as the eventual dive down into the abyss below. Soon enough, they had recieved approval by Central and set out on their expedition.   Having been pushed back, the beast tide retreated to the South and West, building nests in the two walled areas as well as in the remaining areas of the Surface. Their vile energy spread miasma and tainted the land. This proved troublesome to the expedition as corruption had to be cleansed thoroughly lest it spread and diffuse to other areas. Eventually, the expedition group reached the Southern walled area, and after a gruelling battle that lasted a total of 5 days, cleared and purged the area of beasts.
