The Maelstrom

This place consist of hills, valleys and mountain ranges but with one thing in common, the Everstorm always making itself felt, never letting up, only waning until almost gone only to pick up once more.

Geography

Rocky and bare for the most part makes this land feel like a barren wasteland. One is able to see the way the winds and rain have shaped the landscape in the shape of the rocks and mountains, with much of the actual life having gone underground hidden from the rough sunlight and strong winds.

Ecosystem

Only a few hardy and tough plants are able to grow above the wind wall, making the region sparse with life and movement. There are a few plants though that have been able to survive in this inhospitable land, which in turn gives some clever and adaptable creatures a place to call home. Most humanoids avoid the open landscapes and stick to the places where one might hide from the storm, this have given the beings living in the region its space to evolve free of fear from hunting humans, dwarfs and other two-legs.

Localized Phenomena

The weather here is embossed by the storm that never stops and circles the center of the region. This phenomena is called the Everstorm or The Maelstrom. The clashing between light and darkness in the sky makes the skybox of this region unique among the places on Abaddon and the few researchers that venture here all agree it is a sight to behold.

History

Not much remain for long in this land, but it is said that the Everstorm has always been. Regardless if this is true or not, no record of the storm stopping or starting have ever been found. This makes the storm probably at least as old as the current time count.

Tourism

With the ever unrelenting storm ever-present only the brave of heart and those with nowhere else to go come here without an excellent reason few and far between.
