Western Isles
The Western Isles a long archipelago that stretches from the Elvish Veil southward an westward into the sea. It forms the western border of the Glass Sea and is a common stopping point for those wishing to sail Westward over the Endless Ocean.
Geography
Legend has it that the Western Isles were once part of the Elven Veil before the War of Ascension and during one of the conflicts, the Old Gods sank them into the ocean. As such many of the islands are rocky and contain rocky mountain peaks. Other islands have active or dormant volcanoes.
Many of the islands are nothing but a slab of rock while others contain internal lakes, springs, and streams from their mountain systems thus providing fresh water to their inhabitants. These "wet" islands are often lush with vegetation and wildlife that is different island to island. The Northern islands tend to be more tropical with many islands featuring lush, dense tropical rain forests. Others located more south are more temperate featuring an almost alpine flora and fauna.
