Historical Details

History

Most magically inclined people of Aureia were reasonable and well educated on the dangers of magical power. But as with everything, there are outliers. Nearing the end of 973 a group of mages well versed in the magical arts tried to subdue a region in northern Aureia. Their crusade lasted almost four years and the land was devastated due to numerous battles that took place there. Some parts are still saturated with arcane residue, making them too dangerous to live in. After this all those responsible were executed and this treaty was signed by all rulers, who were terrified that something similar might happen again.

Public Reaction

A majority of people this treaty concerns, were ready to comply with the laws written inside. Especially since it was co-written by a powerful and well established wizard, Magister Varran.
