Amaranthine Atoll

Amaranthine Atoll is an island that sits apart from the Broken Bridge and the continent of Tolec. It sits to the west of these neighbors in the The Lazure Ocean, and is renowned for its beautiful purple and pink sands, the radiant colors of its reef and its sacred lagoon, as well as a hub of trade and tourism in its northern port, sustained by the fishing off of its southern coast. In reality, the island inhabitants and visitors exist in a tense balance, held aloft on the shoulders of the Reef Keeper. The outsiders are permitted to own and run businesses on the island and build homes there, but the land itself belongs to no-one, and falls under the protection of the Reef Keeper.

The Broken Bridge

The Broken Bridge is a vast expanse of islands that once formed a land-bridge between Tolec and Sarrasri. The land was shattered during the Heaven War. The area is home not to a single unified nation, but many independent islands, each with their own head, and each hosting unique communities with their own laws, arts, and culture. The Gnomes of the Bridge refer to their leaders as Viceroys or Govoners. The Oni refer to theirs as Daimo or Elders, and the humans refer to them as Chieftans or Electorates.

The island heads occasionally meet at a peaceful congress in the Kitsungi palace, on the island of Ologorun. Apart from this unique gathering, the one thing that unites the peoples of the Broken Bridge is the seas that flooded into the cracks left by the Sundering, and their devotion to it. The gods of sea and storm are revered on every island, and the people of the bridge know their way around the waters well.

Rememberance, Possibility, Harmony. Those born under the sign tend to be adventurous, kind, and lucky. They can be aimless, with a tendency toward wanderlust. The Guide:
Freedom, Death, Birth, Travel. Those born under the sign tend to be intuitive, sensual and free spirited. They are dreamers, but can be naive. The Bear:
Family, Hearth, Fury, Maternity. Those born under the sign tend to be nurturing, organized, reliable and lovers of comfort. They can be grudging if crossed. The Scales:
Justice, Balance, Temperance, Judgement. Those born under the sign tend to be even tempered, quiet and intelligent. They are seekers of truth, but can be reclusive and judgemental.

Tano is one of the lesser isles of the Broken Bridge, yet is one of the closer to the coast of Ixkik and so is ideally placed to accept nobles, artisans and scholars from both lands and teach them their craft. Tano is an island of schools, and boasts a great many dedicated to many fine arts and walks of life.
