Public Agenda
To increase their wealth and improve the geopolitical position.
Assets
Hundreds of mines of various with rich deposits of almost all minerals. Several castles, keeps, and towers. large farms and orchards on fertile land. Huge foundry and smith-works at the Anvil. An average amount of wealth due to the difficult to travel trade routes. A strong force of heavily armoured men with units of large brutish warriors. A medium-sized fleet.
History
The tribes of brutish men that lived in the Craglands finally established themselves as a unified kingdom after years of conflicts with the more civilized men in the west. Eventually, they made peace and Western immigrants began to integrate into society.
They two groups complemented each other well. The Cragen tribesmen fulfilled the more physically demanding jobs, while the westerners' strength was in administration and farming. Power is distributed fairly evenly since all the best territories are by the Cragen warlords who later became the kingdoms great houses.
For a long time, it was taboo for one race to breed with another but some did it anyway. The great house of the region, the Ractors, were early to bed their intriguing new neighbours and possess traits of both.
The clever genes from the people of the west gave them a huge advantage as they now had the brains to competently administrate and maneuver their kingdom against their mostly inept competition.
They mostly keep to themselves on a geopolitical level but will sally forth from their mountains if needed.
