Magpie's Nest

The Magpie's Nest is a small quarter of Ralhaz, a building which functions as both a boarding house for travelers as well as a pawn/oddities/anything goes store. It is run by the Never Brothers, a group of Coriniaid.

What's the name of your building? Why?

  • The Magpie's Nest is a reference to the avian nature of the Never Brothers, three of which have the heads of magpies.
  • It also doubles as a reference to the fencing/reselling of stolen items, as the Never Brothers are former highwaymen and tend to side with thieves and burglars.

What’s the purpose of this building?

  • It has a pawn shop/oddities storefront
  • It has a small tavern/meal kitchen
  • Mostly functions as a boarding place/inn
  • Not for long stays and used mostly by wanderers

How does this building look and feel?

  • Old fashioned building with a built in courtyard in the middle (square shaped) two sides face streets
  • It's made with wood, reeds, and solidified organic matter, as well as ransacked metal
  • Like Lambscress' Flash-ken, it defies physics and is held together in a way that defies physics but is somehow very comfortable and safe-feeling

Defenses

The Never Brothers discovered a tunnel which leads to the old Clockmakers temple and the Old Graves sometimes after purchasing it. The four members they were able to salvage, Coriniaid who were living off the fat of dead bodies, they set up in the Old Graves. Only one of the members has a key and map, and they exchange it once a month secretly - only the previous owner and the current owner know they have it, making it harder for potential spies or thieves to pick up on a pattern.

Tourism

The Never Brothers are very enthusiastic about tourism, as well as highlighting local or pop-up businesses. Particularly from other Nachkommen or those who aren't under Lambscress' influence, in order to allow for some variety. However, allowing them to sell their wares does not equal endorsement.
