Cadmia Mountains
The Cadmia Mountains are a mountain range which travels South-North.
What are your non-earth-like geographical features in your setting?
- It is a large mountain range but its chemical composition is full of strange materials, some which don't seem native to the area and come from somewhere else. A lot of the mountains are filled with treacherous mines and graves, but the beings didn't seem to be from this world.
- This is an area that that the Kubeleya know as the Cromlech, and they believe their Gods kept the Heno invaders from truly settling there, but unfortunately the Gannwyll became a new threat.
- During Indifferent Suns or other such strange days, like eclipses, it's been said the abandoned downs will mine for a day and leave new materials, so the abandoned towns (which are inhabited by Coriniaid) do NOT allow for resettlement
What’s the general “lay of the land” of your active worldbuilding area?
- Mountain range with several abandoned industries or settlements that are heavily guarded. Plenty of paths and normal villages though, and a lot of forested area
- On the Western side is hilly terrain, it was occupied by the Kubeleya and minority of Heno. The Gannwyll now preside over its territory.
- Further down live some Odonata (Ephemera) and Myacoris
- On the Eastern Side is a coastal inlet with some fertile valleys and wetlands up north. It is inhabited by the Attercops and the Gannwyll.
- There a lot of dense, deadly forests and some deadly lakes/rivers
And what is the climate or environment like, in your active worldbuilding area?
- A mix of extreme weather and temperate, stable climates in the surrounding area. Their winters tend to be particularly harsh and dry, with hot, humid summers due to the presence of the mountains.
- The forests do not seem to diminish with the seasons, though, and although the plants will not grow as much in the winter, they will often either wither or turn into cicadas and millipedes and other such creatures to seek shelter.
Next, What is the ecosystem & habitat like in your active worldbuilding area?
- The Mountains have many micro-climates, but are generally very extreme in weather.
- There are a lot of different and unique animals in the mountains, but unfortunately, most of them are Coriniaid, and thus when you "kill" one, it turns into oil. Animals made of flesh are a long-forgotten thing.
- The wetlands are famous for their plants and fish, the valleys for their settlements and medical/technological advances
Finally, what natural resources are found in your active worldbuilding area?
- The mountains contain the following:
- Heavy Metals - Lead, Arsenic
- Citron - Pine resin, Amber, Citric Acid
- Flint - Quartz
- Brimstone - Sulphur
- Brine - Salt
