It is said the Midnight Queen, the most exalted deity of Balgrendia's Old Faith pantheon, once roamed the lands and the depths of the Deep Dark Forest. Since not long after the downfall of Niflheim, she has vanished from sight, yet her presence is fervently worshipped by the faithful. Despite her absence, Balgrendians adhere to age-old covenants, offering worship and tribute to avert her wrath. They hold onto a collective hope for mercy, wary that their current struggles could pale in comparison should she decide to exact her vengeance upon humanity once more.
