She learned everything she knowns about magic from her mother, who in turn learned from her mother. She uses her skills to great success. She makes a lot of money as a consultant for big corporations and three letter agencies.

She is a cybersecurity expert and consultant. She started out just with her magical abilities and a laptop from her room. In the beginning she just hacked for fun, but as she gained a reputation in an online community people approached her for paid jobs. These were often illegal but she was not afraid to be caught as these companies and even her employers had no idea how her hacking worked. This worked until she was caught by the CIA in 2015 at the age of 15. Her mothers boyfriend Paul Cook got her out of prison time by calling in a favour from his cybersecurity contants. Afterwards he taught her everything he knew about cybersecurity, the industry and the important players. Leveraging this knowlegde and some regular work from the CIA and NSA she established herself as a well known professional. One of her most lucrative contracts is with Lytton Arms which she got after helping them with the Parkston Group Incident in 2016. Today she makes more then 200'000$ a year with several contracts and has always more offers than she can handle.Wealth
She owns an appartment in the Upper East Side in Manhattan and a BMW car. She is well off with a small investement portfolio. Her wealth is managed by an accountant though she is still very involved and double checks everything he does. She also pays her mothers and grandpas mortage and some other bills. She would like to do more, but her mother does not let her.Relationships
Alaura has relationships with her family which consists of her mother and her grandpa. Her most import relationships are with her mother and her mentor. She does not have any close friends and the rest of her relationships are of a mostly professional nature. The Thompson family consists of only Alaura, her mother and her grandpa. Her father died in a car accident when she was eight years old. The three of them are very close and she regularly visits them between work. She involves her mother in most of the her lives decisions and ask her for advice on many different things. She is forever thankful toward Paul and considers him as a father figure. Though she never got to the point where she could call him dad as her mother and him split up after two years. She has some resentment towards her mother that she could not make it work with Paul.Professional Contacts Alaura works a lot and as a result most of her relationships are work related. She has contact to various peers in her area of expertise. Though these contacts are mostly digital. She maintains contacts with several fortune five hundred companies and many three letter agencies. She maintains a relationship with Delma Alexandria Lytton who has hired her as a consultant for Lytton Arms and keeps her on a retainer.
