This page is going to act as my worldbuilding roadmap for Osiron. It’ll be my guide to (try) and keep on top of worldbuilding, and somewhere you guys will be able to see what focus areas are coming up.

Roadmap: Planned Phases

Phase 1

Areas of Focus

Last Updated:
19.04.2025

The main areas of focus for phase 1 are going to be a cleanup of the Summer Camp 2020 articles, creating articles (or completing them) for the main and supporting cast of characters in Osiron, and going in to more depth around the spacefaring species. You can click each of the headings below to find out more.

Summer Camp 2020 Cleanup

Now, I know I have a lot of Summer Camp articles lying around that I haven’t gone back to - not just from 2020 either! But I want to keep these focus areas in manageable chunks, and nothing needs tidying up more than the articles that were very early worldbuilding ideas for Osiron.

So one of my tasks for phase 1 is to work through the Summer Camp 2020 article list to make some much needed updates / changes.

Summer Camp 2020
Generic article | Jan 7, 2025

Below is a list of all Osiron SC articles that are in included in this area of focus. As and when I've done them, I'll check them off the list!

Where in the Galaxy is Tepka-101?
Chalauran
Cerberus House
Cerberus Ravager
Osyr Medical Aid
The Bahr-Heisig Communications System
Y'darus

Tauro Vi'Bani
Light Blindness
Sol-Cerberi Concordat
Pasavr
Grand Cathedral of the Eternal Flame
Thayziere Syndrome
The Hykiath Raids

I'm leaving Liluri and the Osiryx Federation off this list. I know that they're both Summer Camp 2020 articles, but the former also a part of the Tau Cerberi star system and the latter is a major organisation, both areas which I've got plans for in phase 2 so they'll fit better under there.

Main and Supporting Cast

One of the other big areas I want to focus on is the main and supporting cast (for ‘volume 1’, at least). I’ve made a list of characters that already exist, and this is likely to get extended as I go - especially since it’s very Terran centric at the moment! So I’ll also be looking to diversify the supporting cast.

Delilah Corbeck
Larissa Ziegler
Faolán McKeogh
Arinobu Kitazawa
Farai Pretorious

Lawrence Aarons
Crew of The Stargazer
Leonore Ziegler
Cyrus Ziegler
Lillian Horner

Species

I have a vague idea of who/what each of the spacefaring species are in Osiron, but I’ve only really written about one of them so far. Not great when you’re name dropping a bunch of alien species in your worldbuilding and nobody except you has a proper reference point for them!

The aim is to change that. Not only will I be writing about each species - their looks, mannerisms, biology etc. - but the various ethnicities, as well as a bit of history and where they’re all originally from. It’s going to be a big task, probably a bigger one than I’m expecting, but it’s going to be exciting to finally get my thoughts about all these alien species down on the page.

L’Or
Terran

Phase 2

Areas of Focus

Last Updated:

Ideally with these phase approaches, I want to try and include at least 3 different areas of focus. However, with the two I’ve picked for phase 2 being organisations and the Tau Cerberi star system, I don’t want to lose sight of what I’m trying to achieve with these by introducing another area of focus. Especially as these two are going to be quite big undertakings.

Organisations

Organisations and their internal/external politics will be a big factor in Osiron. Both in how characters act around or respond to others, and how the state of the galaxy shifts with the political climate.

You’ve probably already seen a couple of major organisations mentioned - the Osiryx Federation and the Terran Nomothetic Collective. These are the two ‘major players’ as far as organisations are concerned, but they won’t be the only ones I focus on during phase 2

The Tau Cerberi Star System

I’ve already made a bit of a start on mapping out what the Tau Cerberi star system looks like. A list of planets, moons, etc. but not much more than that. None of the finer details, except for a bit of writing for Liluri that I started as part of a Summer Camp prompt.

Expanding on this system will be the first step in mapping out the wider galaxy.

Phase 3

Areas of Focus

Last Updated:

Phase 3 is going to expand on previous phases a little bit - hopefully the worldbuilding I do for the Tau Cerberi system in phase 2 will be a useful experience to help with expanding that to the Cerberi galaxy, and the eternal flame religion is something that started as an offhand mention in some Summer Camp articles.

Mapping Out The Cerberi Galaxy

Whilst I may have already written a few bits here and there about the Tau Cerberi star system, I haven’t looked at the wider Cerberi galaxy (or Osiron cluster) beyond creating a couple of maps. And really, all those maps do is say “oh, X system is in this galaxy”. So there’s really not much to these at the moment.

That’s why I want to focus on the Cerberi galaxy in phase 3 and really begin to expand on the finer details of Osiron as a whole. The Cerberi galaxy is the first step, with Osiron to follow in a later phase. Once the Cerberi galaxy has a little more detail to it, I’ll then (hopefully!) have notes on the various other systems that I can incorporate into the roadmap as well.

A Vehicle Glossary

When it comes to travelling through space, you need the proper vessel for it. I’ve named a few here and there, described them to certain degrees, but originally it was hard to keep track of how I was referring to them - what type of craft they were, how to keep up naming conventions (and how they differed between organisations who owned/made the craft).

This is going to be the phase where I sit down and actually figure these things out so that the vehicles I create are consistent in their terminology. That won’t just be starcrafts either (even though they’re the ones I’m most excited about because, you know, space travel). Here’s hoping that this is a bit nicer and easier than creating an entirely new star system from scratch - and that it gives my brain a bit of a rest!

Religions: Casteel of the Eternal Flame

For those of you who have read the Tauro Vi’Bani article will have already heard of this religion. Honestly, I kind of forgot about it myself - I’ve got a fantasy world that I’m already writing up a big pantheon / multiple religions for, and it wasn’t really the first thing I thought about when I was deciding to do some space related sci-fi worldbuilding.

Having looked through some of my WIP / stub ideas though, it’s actually piqued a bit of my interest. How does a religion differ when opened up to travellers from another world? How does it change and adapt as its teachings are taken not only across a planet, but entire solar systems and galaxies? I think there’s a few things in this area that would be interesting to explore and so different from the fantasy religions that I’m used to worldbuilding, so this one will round off phase 3 of the roadmap.
