Fijur is the capital city of Ves Palu and is famous for its huge shipyards and innovative naval designs. Fijurian shipwrights were the first to discover the qualities of menhirwood harvested from the local monoliths of the islands, and used it to makee the fastest ships of the era. Menhirwood ships were in big demand during Melesh & Markor's Twenty Year Feud and other naval conflicts, but have also been used for expeditions and seafaring races. During The Rupture 50 years ago, ancient dragon-wasps awoke from the monoliths that Ves Paluvians had been harvesting from, and a swarm of these angrily-awoken vosagons wrought havoc and destruction in the city. Three vosagons were slain within the city before the swarm flew aurward from the islands. With Ves Palu free of the beasts, Fijur became a hub of opportunities for unemployed folk as the harvesting ban was lifted from the monoliths. All of the monoliths have now been harvested for their menhirwood and it's now a rare material. Fijur has lots of trade with neighbouring country, Elmaresh, on the mainland of Anvil. They import large amounts of wood, metals, and other shipbuilding materials that are in limited supply on the isles. Fijur produced new designs for Jelly Trawlers, allowing huge trawling ships to be modified for better gathering of the bioluminescent jellyfish that are used for glowtech.
