Menhirwood Material in Melior | World Anvil

Menhirwood

Menhirwood is a rough, stone-like bark harvested from a monolith which has magical stabilising qualities in water. Menhirwood vessels are not battered by the waves of the Asterean Sea so heavily and have greater resistance to general wear and tear.   Menhirwood is also hand crafted into decorative bowls, spoons and utensils as the dappled pattern looks beautiful after sanding back and varnishing.

Access & Availability

Hundreds of monoliths and Menhirwood circles dot the landscape of Ves Palu. Nobody knows how they got there, or who erected them, but they have become a deep part of Ves Paluvian cultural traditions.

They carved this material into bowls, spoons, utensils and toys when it was discovered that the Menhirwood had unique stabilising qualities when floating on water.   Menhirwood goods fetch a high price for this magical quality and shipwrights from both The Melopian Empire and The Kingdom of Meles are putting an enormous demand on supplies.
