Tenouen People

About one and a half thousand years ago there was a civilization of people who lived In and around the Tenouen boglands. They grew a few base crops, and subsidised their rest of their food by hunting and gathering. There is a bit more known about these people than other civilizations from history as they kept records of their achievements in both written and pictoral form. Their belief system was also the root of the religion which much later spawned The Prophet of The Sun.   Religion is not the only aspect of the Tenouen people's culture to have had an influence on modern day life, at least for those in the city of Dinat. Their knowledge of the use of fossil fuels for most of their daily energy needs such as, cooking, heating, forging metal etc. has been invaluable to GBC. Previous to The Dimming the nations of this region depended on solar energy for almost all of their power needs. With the absence of light from the sun, and the banning of the use of Constellation Light, the GBC needed other sources of fuel to power their machines.   Being familiar with the Tenouen people, The Prophet had set down in his plans ways in which his followers could utilise these forms of fuel to create the power they would need in the absence of sun light. In the years since the Dimming the GBC have further refined the use of these energy sources to increase both their efficiency and longevity. What wasn't mentioned in the histories was the effects the burning of these fuels could have on the environment, this was probably because the Tenouen people didn't do it on any kind of grand scale, so the impact was minimal.
